Naoussa Xinomavro

2009 vintage. Lots of parallels to Langhe Nebbiolo. Light colored, fragrant and floral, pomegranate, dried cranberry, dried cherry, birch bark, dried rose petals. Held up well for several days.

Med ruby color. Secondary aromas of fresh herbs, dried fruit, and spice. Flavor notes of cherry and rhubarb. Dry with developed tannin structure. Med finish.

Deep red color. Aromas and flavors of pine resin, black cherry, strawberry, and cassis. Medium tannins. Medium finish.

Smells like Athens!

Tastes great even without the cucumber sauce...

Forgot that I had this one. Nose is terrific! Roses and leather. Pallet doesn’t measure up. Flavors of dried cherries, cassis and rhubarb with hints of dried herbs, tar and earth. A bit of a “green” component. Dark red color. Medium body. A bit sharp on the finish.

Surprisingly good for 7 year old Naoussa. Dark cherry, hint of spice, dry. Earthy taste and nose. Good finish.

Yeah yeah I know Boutari is a big operation but this wine delivers for the money. Tart, earthy, forest floor and spices.

Dry Greek wine, a little acidic with a rather weak finish.
