2016. Capsicum and chalk. Quite a hit of new oak that integrates with aeration. A big, structured wine for the vintage. Should have quite a long life. #châteaudebrézé #saumur #cabernetfranc — 6 years ago
An old friend who aged faster than me. Stubbornly closed aromatically with the faintest dark fruit, spearmint, and tobacco peeking through. Bright cranberry and black cherry hit up-front with a hint of earthy leather and tobacco on the thin but lingeringly tangy finish. Dregs show the fruit density and green peppercorn that this wine once had. A few years past prime, but still pleasant and a nice pair for a beef tenderloin. #saumur #cabernetfranc #loire — 7 years ago

Vintage 2013 - #cheninblanc from vignes that are 46 years old on argile calcaire terroir. “fermentation ét elevage 9 mois en demi-muds” I love the wines of this producer that works very secure and passionated. This white #Saumur is true to type chenin, it does not charm you at once. Minerals, citrus and pear. Beautiful butter in taste, but also repulsive. A lovely play to discover its qualities, sip by sip 🙃 — 6 years ago
A version 4 years younger that is pure fruit, delicate as the 2001 but maybe less developed, less complex. Nothing wrong with that, though 😸. Apparently the winemaker, Monsieur Papin, is called "the poet of Chenin Blanc" by the revered Andrew Jefford and if he said so my only aim is to look for more Papins to corroborate through a field research. Excellent! #cheninblanc #loire #botrytis #sweetwine #noblerot #anjou #saumur #beaulieu — 8 years ago
Well, I guess it should come as no surprise, but Guiberteau’s rosé is equally as delicious as any of his other wines. Living legend.

Great bottle of wine...so crisp, so pure & delicious. Gone before we knew it. #chenin #loirewine #saumur #châteaudebrézé — 6 years ago
Vintage 2015 - By jove! What a tremendous good #saumur from #cabernetfranc. Só smooth and elegant it drinks like lemonade. Wagonloads red fruit in smell, hint of spices. Lots of finesse. Either this plot ‘Les Cormiers’ is excellent or Silvain Dittière is a magician. Probably both. #loirefunk @delectable this is ‘Les Cormiers’ — 6 years ago
A mildly amber colour that makes me think of shrivelled grapes covered in mold. Too ethereal (light) to be a sweet wine, therefore I'd have it as an aperitif too. Apricots and honey and orange marmalade and walnuts and marzipan, tangy aftertaste. Not a cultural milestone like a Sauternes or a Tokaji but excellent in its own league. #cheninlikeadiamond #cheninblanc #loire #botrytis #sweetwine #noblerot #anjou #saumur #beaulieu — 8 years ago
