Pretty fine, the claret like 2006 Seghesio Family Wine Single Vineyard San Lorenzo Zinfandel was showing really well last night. At seven years, out of a 1.5 liter bottle, the wine has come to its apex of its life. Showing soft berries and a faint accent of vanilla, this is exactly where I had hoped the wine would be at this age. In this double format bottle, this wine could continue to age another few years, but probably would not have gotten much better. I shared this one with a bunch a great friends and colleagues last evening in a secret 50th birthday party for my long time good pal Brian Bowden.
