3rd of 3 wines part of a virtual work happy hour from the Mrs. Definitely a big #napavalleycabernet but nice earth, forest floor blended with rich black/purple fruit on the nose - bold fruit palate followed by coffee and dark chocolate bitter notes. Excellent Napa Cab from Montes. The 2008 summer was very hot, keeping yields low and providing concentrated berries at harvest. This is a big, full bodied wine delivering lots of ripe dark fruit, pepper, tobacco and some chocolate. Smooth and almost velvety in the mouth it has a long and pleasant finish. Decanted for 2 hours, this will last another 15 years or more.
