Every time at Zinc Bistro, I order his wine. Easy drinking and is a great pairing with a variety of their dishes. — 7 years ago

2011 vintage. At Au Fils du Zinc in Chablis. Fabian recommended this bottle over the more famed Les Clos 2011 as he thought it would be drinking better. And boy he was right. A very big wine, I would recommend serving it ever so slightly colder than normal to restrain the power in this wine. Medium golden hue. The wine has crushed rock chalkiness, honey blossom and plenty of ripe peach notes. On the palate, this wine explodes with power and ripeness, medium plus body and a very broad mid palate that coats your tongue. The acidity makes your lips smack and powers the very long citrus finish. Hugely impressive compared with my expectations. Really enjoyable particularly with the cheese I had for dessert. Drink now - doubt it can get much better from here. — 8 years ago
2010 vintage. Au Fil du Zinc, Chablis. Pale lemon hue. Minerality to the fore, lemon citrus fruit profile, honeysuckle and white flowers. Chalky crispness. On the palate, high acidity, medium minus body, medium alcohol and medium concentration. Good long finish - tart and crisp. Will age a long time. Drink now until 2036+. — 9 years ago
17+. I wish were at a zinc in Paris drinking this. Great nose and fruit, hugely satisfying. — 5 years ago
The 2015 Chablis Les Butteaux 1er Cru was actually ordered from the list at "Au Fil du Zinc" restaurant. What a fabulous Chablis! Oyster shell and slivers of white peach on the nose, a hint of orange pith developing later – the aromatics have wonderful definition. The palate is beautifully balanced with a slightly viscous texture, veins of white peach and apricot with an underlying mineralité to maintain tension. Wonderful! One of my favorite Syrah from Washington State. Walla Walla. Deep ruby red with a wonderful nose. Silky and burst of black fruit somewhat dry. Had it at Zinc in San Antonio. — 8 years ago
2008 vintage. At Au Fils du Zinc in Chablis. Just pop and pour - no decanting. Bright pale cherry hue. On the nose, typical crushed raspberry with earthy farmyard meaty notes. Enticing. On the palate, like walking up stairs - different levels of flavour and intensity as it rolls through the tongue. Medicinal and herbal but in a balanced and interesting way - a crescendo of concentration on the back of the palate. Medium minus acidity and medium body. Slightly warm alcohol and a huge finish. Another wow wine from a wow trip. Young? Drinking very well despite its youth. Might develop a little more from here. Drink now until 2025+. — 8 years ago

2002 vintage. In Au Fil du Zinc, Chablis. Medium lemon green hue. Lemon curd and honey, some buttery notes. Rich. Deep concentration. On the palate, medium plus acidity, full body, medium alcohol, full concentration of honey, vanilla and lemon candy pieces. Wet stone minerality present in the mid palate, rather than the nose. Quite long, but not lingering in the way some Raveneau can be. Developing in the glass. Great complexity. Still relative youngster. Drink now until 2032. NB: decant at least one hour before drinking. — 9 years ago
Peach yogurt, yogurt, yogurt, yogurt/zinc... other than that, jammy bramble, black pepper, spearmint. Pretty pink/ruby at medium concentration. Little staining. Dry with ripe (overripe?!) attack. Moderate acidity and tight tannin. Full throttle. — 7 years ago
Rust coloured, medium tannins, (resto Zinc, rue de la roquette, Paris 75011) live band was about to start before we left 😢 — 8 years ago
1986 vintage. At Au Fils du Zinc in Chablis - thank you Fabian for picking the best white wine experience of the year. This was a wine that Mr Raveneau didn't release because he thought there was too much oak and sulphur. Only recently did they realise they had a gem. Medium golden hue. Honeyed, white peach, lemon pieces, iodine and crushed rock minerality. Slight bovril note and sea shell with air. Amazing complexity. On the palate, perfect balance between fresh acidity and body, highly concentrated and layers of complexity. Very very long. Outstanding. Still fresh enough to last another 7-10 years at least. — 8 years ago
Quite sweet & fruity, but that was necessary to cut thru the "zinc aftertaste" — 8 years ago
2010 vintage. At Au Fil Du Zinc, Chablis. Pale golden hue. Ripe and round stone fruits, honeyed, hints of wet stone minerality, youthful but with complexity. On the palate, medium plus acidity, medium plus body, medium alcohol and high concentration. Very long finish. Textural and velvety. Quite full on for a Chablis. Starting to drink now until 2030+. — 9 years ago

Lovely #whitepeach #strawberry at first sip, finishing with hint of #whitepepper, bright acidity and fruit forward. Just enough of fizzy zinc . Perfect for a warm late spring day in NYC — 5 years ago
