San Pedro de Yacochuya Red Blend 2012

Guess I had this vintage 70 weeks ago, and I found another dusty bottle of this at my wine store. It’s just fantastic - so much life ahead. This is a generous wine, heavily extracted, just gobs of blackberry & cassis, licorice and vanilla - quite decadent. Big fleshy on palate, believe this had a good deal of Malbec in the blend. Has some finesse, well balanced and impressive length on finish. — 2 months ago

Finca Altamira Mendoza Malbec 2011

A more structured Malbec than the Yacochuya earlier which had more loose knit tannins. Some sweet berry notes with leather nuances. Excellent with a rosy future. — 8 years ago

Increíble. Contundente sin ser tánico. Uno de los mejores que he probado en LA VIDA.

See my previous note on 2013: this is a more (fruit) focused effort - w/extraordinary depth of flavors & elegantly structured to pair beautifully w/ribeye. Prominent milk chocolate along w/endless oozing dark berried fruit. Seamless — a year ago
