Auction! Just goes to show not all #Riesling 2003s suck! Schaefer BA is another testament to the most underrated "great" vintage-HA! #31DaysGermanRiesling #SOR @SummerRiesling — 12 years ago
Paired with a nice Indian meal. Off dry complemented the heat and spice. — 4 years ago
Very slight fizz, pale straw colour. An attractive mix of pear, quince and something a little more exotic, like pineapple. Mid-acidity and sweetness with shortish length as all in balance. Light and enjoyable. Tasted again after a couple of nights in the fridge this had put on weight and become richer and more round and very harmonious - Delicious — 5 years ago
Sour apple candy. Good sweetness and acid. — 7 years ago
Beautiful nose - petrol, pear, baking spice. Off dry. Strong acidity and well balanced. Young but with complexity and depth, especially on the nose. — 8 years ago
Thick, unctuous, one of the richest Goldcaps from Haag I ever had.
Mandarin, banana, custard, vanilla and tropical goodness. Only the faintest hint of petrol, lots of stony minerality. Terrific!

10 years ago I was skeptical because this seemed to be a kabinett trying to be a spatlese. No reservations now! — 10 years ago
Mineral-y. Fuzzy. Gooseberry. Not too fruity. — 12 years ago

Mjammi, pure and fresh mineral auslese — 8 years ago
Deep gold. Honeyed apple and snowblower on the nose. Rich mouthfeel of pears and peach, yet the finish was quite short. Still, ripe with elegant acid showcasing the vintage. Drink up. — 9 years ago
VDP auction bottling. Hard to describe this one as its weightless and in complete balance. There's no hard edges anywhere, but still one of the most hardcore wines that I've ever tasted. The acid level tips the scales and its tart citrusy profile does include some tropical fruits but this this wine is all about its acid drive and nervous minerality. Unique. — 10 years ago
What else belongs with salty apricot glazed ham? Thank heavens! — 11 years ago
