2010 vintage. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot. Given the dramatic story of this estate (the owner died in 2009 and his brave pianist widow took over, with the help of her son who was only 14 years old at the time), it is amazing how they kept up quality. This 2010 is drinking beautifully now. Attractive nose with amarena cherries and cedar wood. Harmonious taste with a wonderful acidity balancing the slightly jammy amarena fruit and the well-integrated tannins. Good spicy length with retronasal fruit. Excellent value for 20 euros! Highly recommended! — 6 years ago
Founded by Charles Palmer, an officer & a gentleman, also an aide-de-camp of the Prince of Wales, convinced by Marie de Gascq, a widow, to buy her estate. Intense fruit aromas of dark berries with a floral edge. A blend of Merlot-52%; Cab Sauv-42%; Petit Verdot-6%; shows cherry & blackberry fruit flavors with nutty vanilla spice. Tannins are well integrated, pack a punch, but needs more time. Nicely balanced with acidity, elegant quality, lingering ending with earthy mineral character! Very Nice — 7 years ago

Sweet and not smokey or Petey. Rhonda loves it. Harper Seldin gave us a 10 year old bottle. — 7 years ago

This was a very good sparkling from winc where many of their sparkling wines can be okay but not mind blowing. — 7 years ago
