Excellent bottle of Oregon Pinot for less than $30. — 9 years ago
Wow, a marvelous and unexpected quartet of "white" wines (including white no skin Pinot Noir!) that makes for a spectacular blend, more like avant garde string quartet than a rock band, with dazzling aromatics and a plush structure from Pinot Blanc. My first time tasting Marcus Goodfellow's wines at Matello. The fact he also finds Viognier & Syrah in North Willamette and crafts remarkably true to terroir wines makes this a winery to follow! — 9 years ago
Back on track!! Solid wine well balanced. Honey, orange taffy and balanced oak. — 10 years ago

Friday nights wine comes from the right bank of Bordeaux - Canon Fronsac. The 2010 Chateau Moulin Haut Laroque 65% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Malbec. The Herve family first started making wine back in 1890 and continue to today. A great track record and delivering a well valued Bordeaux.
The nose is very expressive with dark fruits of black plum, blackberry, black currant, licorice, clove, coffee beans and tar.
Upon first sip black cherries jump out at you full force, with blueberries, a smooth coating of creme de cassis and dried oregano.
There is a nice full bodied mouth feel with medium + acidity and medium sandy tannins.
For the price this is a very nice and serviceable Bordeaux.

Needs a 3 hours to open up, but very nice when it does. Very well balanced, not too dry, classic Oregon Pinot. — 9 years ago
2008, very smooth — 10 years ago
Rich and savory. Smoked meat and blackberries. Quite nice. — 10 years ago
What a superb wine for amazing value. Packs a citrus fruity punch & is crisp, dry finish. Exactly what you want from a NZ Sauvignon Blanc — 9 years ago
A wow wine when first tasted 5 years ago when the delicious cassis, black currant fruit was more prominent. More savoury dusty leathery notes now 11 years down the track. A very harmonious balanced Cabernet (65%) Merlot (35%) blend from an excellent vintage in Coonawarra. Will cellar for another 5 to 10 years. — 9 years ago
Nutty, nice hops, not so bitter that it runs over the malt. A good beer on a hot day. — 10 years ago
Nice, restrained Oregonian. Opened up nicely after an hour. — 10 years ago
