Wow, a marvelous and unexpected quartet of "white" wines (including white no skin Pinot Noir!) that makes for a spectacular blend, more like avant garde string quartet than a rock band, with dazzling aromatics and a plush structure from Pinot Blanc. My first time tasting Marcus Goodfellow's wines at Matello. Another outstanding Pinot from wine maker Jeff Gaffner (Black Kite).A fairly earthy nose with a bit of dark fruit. On the palette it's all plum, ripe plum, fragrant, exuberant with earthy tannins and a bit of aromatic wood, and fennel seed. It's super good and drinking very well. It is big and broad for a Pinot yet has the lightness and vitality of the grape. I hope to have it again. — 12 years ago
