Dark cherry tobacco
This wine is like chomping on a pencil, smoking a pipe full of peace, and eating dark ripened tree fruit. Lingering, secret whispering tannins keep back and forth across my tongue, with a weight to carry it all, which I will voluntarily do.

Dry yet smooth. Not going to replace Whispering Angel as my favorite rose, but would be a close second. — 9 years ago
Anno 2011. Ingresso quasi formaggioso al naso, dove non si esprime al meglio, ma in bocca viene fuori il verdicchio, fresco, minerale, glicerico, inconfondibile. Chapeau — 9 years ago
Proper French rose with the strawberry notes to go along with it. Reminds me of a budget version of whispering Angel. — 6 years ago
@Shay Aldriedge My 1st Aonair Grenache that i was lucky enough to enjoy thanks to my bud Shay! My 1st bottle was corked and he was kind enough to send me a 2nd!! You are insane my friend! This one was firing on all cylinders and definitely game to drag race Grenache! I agree spot on with Shay’s previous post., definitely a Syrah nose and Grenache on the palate. Smoked bacon., cedar, a touch of spice and dark fruit. I dig it! I decanted for approximately 2 1/2 minutes prior to enjoying the 1st sip! I could smell the nose from arms length and could not resist. I’m guessing this will develop well over the next 1 hour. I love seeing the progression which is why I dove right into it. Thanks bud!! 👏👏👏👏👍👍👏👏👏. I have a few beauties heading your way tomorrow. — 8 years ago

Old enough for the Mouved to start whispering — 9 years ago
Like Elton John whispering 'Tiny Dancer' into your ear. An intriguing and spontaneous willingness to go there. — 9 years ago
2013 Shafer one point five cabernet sauvignon from the Stags Leap district of coarse! Well, perfection dad and son! John and Doug, you guys have mastered it. The cork was in perfect condition. After a 45 min eternity of time for decanting, the color is as dark as the night sky on a stormy night in the hills of Tennessee. The legs are slow and thick. The bouquet is peppered cranberry juice with a twist of rip figs growing on the tree. The initial palate is reminiscent of buttered toast and blackberry jam. There is a hint of spice and black pepper. On the finish which is very long, I detect black coffee and dark chocolate - not the Dove version, but the bitter version. There is an fired oaky wood flavor with a blast of a maduro cigar! The finish is very dry and if I don't get a sip of water soon My tongue my shrivel up. But I need another sip first!
Fantastic wine!
Here is a toast to the Shafer family and to my wonderful and beautiful Dayanara on our new home!
Cheers!

$233.33 from the vineyard, maybe dove in a bit too soon. Also, had a total shit day that could be clouding my judgement. — 6 years ago

Kicking back letting the local tunes adjust my attitude with wine:30 showing on the clock she strolls in my direction digging the slow roll Hendrix spinning left then twisting right dressed in deep purple clinging and flowing interestingly crimson along her rim and edges back to casually claret whispering that she's from a small chateau hanging on the right bank of the Gironde near Arveyres. Offering her hand, I accept pulling her in close then a slow spin and a slower twirl she comes close bathed in the essence of blackberry and spice, young but ripe, wet earthy slowly working her way to a first kiss dripping then gripping, pulling tightly then going soft and silky still clinging while working her way deeper. I close my eyes, Hendrix stops and she's gone. A distant guitar string bends an unknown player. I spot her by the bar, her colors waving in the breeze of a lazy fan I reach out take her firmly by the neck, then lower bending her gently back then spinning her my way, she again engages, her essence lingering in my memory, we dance on as the tunes continue their spin. Later, when we are both done I figure she's likely a fine Merlot brightened by Cab Franc having found her way through new French oak nestled by the river, intelligently nuanced well worth the dance and cost is not an issue...
Hanging at Promise' Land Market where the tunes are always righteous, the people are cool, the conversation is groovy and wines dance from the walls... — 9 years ago
Beautiful blush colour, ripe strawberry rose petals stronger palate, medium acidity which is actually nice in a rose' every now and then. Perfer over the Whispering Angel I had this week — 9 years ago

Won this wine in a wine pull! Went really went with Greek marinated grilled chicken, grilled lemons, wild rice and cucumber salad. Balanced, lemony, lemon grass, not fizzy, touch of pepper and herbs- foods with lemon or herbs and this is a good choice!! — 4 years ago
