Purpur in der Farbe / dicht / mittlere Viskosität/ Nase fruchtig, herbal. Beim schwenken Aromen von Marzipan, Hagebutte, Colakraut. Am Gaumen rassige Säure, mittlere Tannine, Alkohol moderat bei 13,5 Prozent. Langlebig. Im Nachhall warm, Aromen wiederholen sich. Erinnert sehr stark an einen Garnache aus Navarra. — 5 years ago
Smell has a touch of lime, petroleum and mothballs, it stays in the taste that had a nice acidity, wine from old vines, complex, nice and interesting, very good for this price. — 5 years ago
Tasting this was like entering a massive cave through a narrow opening. It starts off light, almost like water, then when it all seems a little ungiving, it expands into a palate-coating monster of great depth, purity, and length. You just can't tell how deep the cave is, but know for certain that you've just stumbled upon one of the great wonders of the world, and in this case, riesling. Aptly bottled in magnums and double magnums only, because this is a wine for the ages and one for sharing.
I loved this at the VDP auctions nearly 9 months ago, and still love it now. I feel it's even more open than before, with the nose clearly showing more than my previous notes - stone fruits, chamomile, sage, aniseed, sea spray. Discounting KP's mind-bending 15' Pettenthal TBA and 17' Pettenthal GG, the 17' AdL is my wine-of-the-2018 VDP auctions, mainly because you can still afford to buy it's brilliance. If you find bottles, pounce on them! — 6 years ago
I'm a Riesling addict I think. This Austrian Riesling is the shit.. like, damn. The nose is always where my infatuation begins, kinda like in Amarone - I'll know by the smell if it's gonna be good. The aromas were pretty classic - wet slate, rubber hose, Meyer lemon. The wine was a pretty straw yellow, with a touch of sugar similar to Kabinett - apricot jam, beeswax, mandarin orange peel, and keylime juice. Very refreshing, and paired wrll with a simple meal of baked salmon, garlic rice, and broccolini. — 7 years ago
Always finding some more terrific wine in Ligurien.unglaubliche Noten in der Nase und eine Explosion von Früchten beim Trinken UND das bei einem Demeter-Wein! Unbedingt probieren. — 8 years ago
The Sadie wines are treasures. Eben Sadie makes wine in the ways I’d make wine. Treinspoor is something unique. I’d be shocked if anyone could call the grape blind though it makes sense after you think about it. Tinta Barocca is usually made for Port and you can draw the link to prune, plumb, raisins, spruce, and oak. Bone dry, fleshy tannins. — 6 years ago
Another great PN from the van der Kamp vineyard. While it is a strong blackberry there is also some of the vegetable/pepper that mixes in as well. — 7 years ago
Once again the South African phantom Eben Sadie is showing what great fruit and honest wine making will give you in the glass. So dense and intense, yet translucent and elegant. Layered, with a slight but well placed and interesting earthy funkiness. An impressive length, fully balanced and just beautiful! Day 2 and the wine is singing! — 8 years ago
Eine gern gesehene Cuvee aus der Pfalz, in der Preisklasse aus meiner Sicht in dem Jahrgang mit eine Referenz — 9 years ago
Light hay colored with little tinges of silver. On the nose you’ll get Granny Smith apples, pears, a little kiwi, and minerality. This is one of the best combinations of fun and elegance that I’ve found in a Grüner Veltliner. This 18 is so very young and it shows but it’s still mature enough to go. Very creamy on the mid palate with some round acidity. Air definitely improves things and on the second day it’s downright lush. Very dry, the round acid and texture really takes her to the next level. Honeydew, white pepper, and honey on the palate initially, with grapefruit and smoke coming to play. — 5 years ago

Sehr kräftiger und schwerer Wein aber vorzüglich zum Chateaubriand.

This is amazing. Dry, red stone fruit, earth. I would buy all of it if I could. Merlot with Lagrein and Cabernet Sauvignon. — 7 years ago
Petrol and slate on the nose. Pear and quince in the mouth. Bright acidity but in no way overwhelming. — 7 years ago
Awesome. First time drinking Blaufränkisch... wow this is great. Pairing with order-in Sushi after Saturday Night Lights. — 8 years ago
