Next step up of WFB's spatburgunders. A very nice wine and good step up from the "B". Good fruit and structure. Not tight and drinking well. — 7 years ago

I was very lucky to have one of my oldest friends in the world come visit me from DC this weekend (I love you, Kelli!). True friendship is the best and to me means you always feel understood... no judgement....yes even when it comes to dancing! In our case it also meant constant cutting up and a lot of really good wine! I really enjoy this Andy Erickson juice. It was a nice convergence of fruit and smoke. Awesome as is, but could benefit from a couple hours in a decanter. "And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those that did not hear the music." - my Dad, but before him Friedrich Nietzche of course 😜💃🏼 — 8 years ago
Nice fruit. — 4 years ago
Strawberry nose. Such a great balance of acidity and fruit. Refreshing like cranberry juice... Low alcohol (11%) makes more pronounced fruit and acidity in the palate. Fun wine, paired it with a hot dish (melted cheddar, potatoes, ground beef and green beans), and it was awesome! — 6 years ago
Drinking the 2005 on Nov 22 2016. Amazing! — 8 years ago

Super dark color, herbal, straw, amazing — 8 years ago
This is one of my all time favorites. This pinot grits gets its rose color from being fermented over grape skins. Beautiful complex aromas ranging from citrus to the carnal odor of some red wines. — 4 years ago
A phenomenal vintage for FWG! Amazingly pale for its age, with a very finely honeyed nose of apricot blossom, white rose petals, and lime leaves. Fabulous acidity and amazing freshness. Only delicately sweet; perhaps some has dropped off with age. The perfect start to the meal! — 7 years ago
Peach, shale and autumn on the Rhine . Slightly effervescent — 8 years ago
The age of this wine has added rich layers to complex fruit to both nose and palate. Exotic fruits, melon, longan, pineapple with a long finish — 8 years ago
Not decanted. Initial vanilla oak notes blew off. Floral notes - palate was seamless and delicious with soft black fruits (raspberry), hints of game and liquorice. From vines initially planted in 1853 by Friedrich Koch. Likely to be the oldest Mourvèdres vineyard in the world. Must buy more. — 8 years ago

2018 vintage. Was not expecting the skin contact color (though it does tell you so on the back label)! Tangerine, white peach, mineral, melon rind, green apple, hibiscus tea. Totally clean and absolutely not funky, as the category can sometimes be. — 4 years ago
