This is good stuff. American 'Scotch' and it measures up with some of the best. Surprisingly complex sipping whiskey. Don't waste using as a mixer !! — 10 years ago
From the DOC Noto Nero d'Avola (Sicily) to my parent's table in order to mitigate the legumes gloom that springs out of a winter beans soup bowl - "pasta e fagioli"- so eloquent in his humble celestiality.
Pierpaolo Messina's the producer, Marabino's name of the winery. What a pomegranates plot like! Same succulence of a "blood orange" squeezed by this red wine originated from vineyards rooted on such a white soil "terra ianca"! A fertile land cultivated with art wisdom and awareness, all qualities though, applied with energetic measures by Pierpaolo who's inspired at - both practical and theoretical - some sound principles in the biodynamic agriculture arousal. — 10 years ago
Not for light weights like Paba or Derek — 11 years ago
I have had the 2010 a number times & it's very good, that being said this '07 is superior. A great wine by all measures, deep, rich, berry, tannins, a hint of cinnamon & just the right balance of dry & fruit. — 12 years ago
Make your taste buds lift some weights before trying to taste this big bad boy. Heavy, complex. Effervescence on the tongue gives way to butterscotch, fig, black cherry. — 10 years ago
I spotted a Willamette Valley unicorn in its natural habitat! I see why the people gobble up this allocated gem: brimming with Spring scents from a forest floor, this wine conveys "a thing-ness" of swirling weights, aromatics, and tastes that together tell why we chase after the naiad known as Pinot Noir. — 10 years ago
Quite aromatic and fleshy. Tropical fruit with a mix of weights. — 11 years ago
Lush tannins, cherry, pepper, leather. Two heavy weights. One objective. Delicious. Perennial favorite.-DM — 12 years ago
Least favorite of our Christmas dinner wines but competed against younger heavy weights. Great wine. — 9 years ago
Smooth and succulent; fruit and spice in measures nice. — 10 years ago
Based on other notes, I fear we didn't give this nearly enough time open up. I got intense but tight flavors of tart cranberry, roses, and lemon and orange juice. In fact it was hard to tell from the nose that this was a red wine! By all objective measures a great wine, decant at least a couple of hours before if you drink this soon. — 11 years ago
Very nice, bit of leather and black cherries there. Modestly complex, a little leather on the finish. And I swear this bottle weights about 5 lbs empty. It's awesome. — 11 years ago
Medium body dry not sweet delicious. At at weights and measures with mr r — 11 years ago
Though "only" a rosso this montalcino red measures up to some of the area's brunellos as well. — 13 years ago
