Enjoyed this Cab Sauv/Merlot blend at a Mexican dinner on the resort. We had the opportunity to try the El Cielo winery last year and while in Mexico, seems logical to try the wines of that nation. And . . . This is worth trying. — 6 years ago

To celebrate our 2-yr wedding anniversary while in Alaska, we had 5-course dinner at one of the premier spots in the state, which just so happened to be at our resort (at the top of the mountain). A Wine Spectator recognized restaurant with an incredible wine list!
Stark contrast between the last wine and this. Much more flint/rock, white flower, almond shavings on the nose. Higher viscosity on the palate, and it had a great texture. Lingering finish. — 8 years ago

Not a blend. It’s all Listan Negro from the Canary Islands. Tenerife to be specific, better known as a resort island where Scots and Brits go on holiday to get pissed. Light to medium bodied; peppery with strawberry/ cherry flavors. Light on tannins- more acidic. Pretty easy drinking. Could b a good summer red choice. Apparently this grape grows in Peru under a diff name — 6 years ago
Stags Leap Manor, as it was called in the 1920s, was known as one of the prominent country retreats in the Napa Valley at a time when resort and spa business was big. Straw yellow, with stone fruit and citrus aromas and toasty notes. On the palate melon, pineapple and pear, fresh & crisp with notes of smoky oak, a bit creamy. Lingering finish with wet stone and minerality character, well balanced, stays crisp on ending. Nice! — 7 years ago
This is an amazing blend! Nadia from Santa Barbara Highlands and Laetitia winery. The color is dark and opaque. The bouquet is raspberry jam on buttered toast. The initial palate is so smooth. Hints of blackberry and cranberry followed by a dry oaky peppered bliss! Absolutely no acidity and not too dry! WOW... I had this at a local restaurant called The Last Resort in Athens GA! - by the glass!!!! Finally a restaurant with wine in Athens!
FANTASTIC!

New Years Eve at The Farm Restaurant, Carneros Resort and Spa. Opened some of my favorite wines: Marcassin Chardonnay, 2012 with oysters and caviar and salmon dish. Structure of wine is layered with apricot-orange, floral blossoms, lemon, cedar and vanilla. The Next of Kyn, 2013 Syrah blend paired nicely with the Wellington beef. Covers the pallet with dark blackberry, licorice and chocolate changing in taste as it opened up. Tannins still present but not over powering. Both wines deserve a 9.5 rating with plenty of age left on them. — 5 years ago
