A very nice strong ale. Has a very rich malty front with bitter chocolate and mint and a hint of brown sugar. Finishes with a little bit of a hop bite, but overall this beer is delicious. A nice find at the hotel bar! Always good to see the area hotels supporting the local crafts! Very well done!! — 7 years ago

When it's well above 70° in December you have to get creative with the refreshing whites. Opens with enough petrol you'll have cause for concern that it's dangerous to drink. Lime and peach work their way in while the petrol eventually mellows to paraffin wax. Coats the palate with the sweetness and consistency of a melted Fla•vor•ice, and just as you're about to cringe from drowning in the cloying sugar you're saved by a last gasp of bright acidity. — 9 years ago

Druckvoll,mineralisch, würzig und dennoch reichlich Frucht. Blitzblanker Riesling, geboren auf rotem Schiefer. Mindestens 30 Min vor dem Genießen öffnen, ruhig auch 10 Min im Glas stehen lassen. Jede Minute lässt den Wein wachsen. Ein kleiner Schläfer, der es in sich hat. — 9 years ago

Ca. 20% der gesamten Ernte wird als Ganztraubenvergärung durchgeführt, wobei die Trauben immer im Rahmen einer Maische von entrappten Beeren mitvergoren werden. Vor der eigentlichen Vergärung wird eine 8-10tägige Kaltmazeration durchgeführt. Nach der Vergärung wird dann sofort ablaufen gelassen, bzw. extrem sanft gepresst, die Maische soll nach der Vergärung niemals kalt werden, also keine Standzeiten nach der Vergärung um den Wiedereintritt von Bitterstoffen zu vermeiden. Dunkles Rubinrot mit schwarzen Reflexen. Sehr duftige und zugleich versammelte, drückende, schiebende Nase, im Stil eines Bonnes Mares. Konzentrierte Walderdbeere und Waldhimbeere, Herzkirsche, alles sehr konzentriert, mittig, sehr geradeaus laufend. Dunkle Schokolade darunter. Auch Holunder, ein Hauch Olive. Insgesamt recht wuchtig und zugleich mineralisch und frisch. Im Mund erstaunlicher Weise sehr kirschig. Wieder die Herzkirsche, auch schwarze Kirsche. Ganz am Rand stellt sich dann ein wenig Cassis ein, außerdem wieder Walderdbeere, Waldhimbeere, aber die Kirsche kommt immer wieder hoch. Feines Salz, nicht zu dominant. Feiner Kalkstein, ein wenig Milchschokolade und Dominikanische Tabake. Dann kommen ein wenig Mango und Aprikose, pikante Passionsfrucht und wieder rote Kirsche. Diesmal als kraftvolle, wuchtige Herzkirsche. Schöne Frische, stilistisch sicherlich eher in der Cotes de Nuits als in der Schweiz aber mit wesentlich mehr Frische und wesentlich pikanter, eine gewisse gewollte und urwüchsige Burschikosität bleibt. Sehr gelungener Wein. Fast ein ganz großer Pinot. Schon im Grand-Cru Bereich, einer der besten Pinots, die ich außerhalb Frankreichs probiert habe. — 13 years ago
