Here comes a big boy. First taste of an Amarone grape. Foodie wine but a slow supper. Very in your face. — 10 years ago

Very bold in your face fruitiness. Nearly a dessert wine. Good with cheese. Slight cola and tons of ripe fruit. Very soft tannins. — 9 years ago
The 2012 is Zin-like! Fruit & spice and everything nice. Fruit up front, with a lingering peppery finish. This red blend remains a great daily driver. Be careful, the 14.5% will 'steal your face' if you don't check yourself! — 10 years ago
Bomb.com! I absolutely loved this wine & would definitely buy again. Super bold & in your face with a nice lingering smokiness. — 10 years ago
a light, delicious, medium bodied wine that doesn't need a food pairing. — 10 years ago

Velvety, smooth. Complicated. Deep. Vanilla? Pepper? — 12 years ago
I face friends that open this vintage regularly... It pairs with vanilla ice cream and yes sometimes simple is good enough. — 9 years ago
If you have a strong dessert wine program, this should be in it. Late harvest apple cadre with resid so good and so fun. — 10 years ago
Really enjoyed this wine! I was expecting to get a tannin slap in the face, but this was surprisingly smooth and silky. Nice mix of berries, peppers and spice. I plan on buying more and cellar for a few years - I'm sure it'll be even better! — 10 years ago

Finally have a bit of time to update my tasting notes from my visit to Napa the past few days. Did a bit of work for Montagu Wines, and enjoyed a ridiculous amount of wine, and good wine at that.
Russell Bevan is making wine at Brasswood, where we are for Montagu, so it was great meeting the larger than life man that he is. He was kind enough to share a glass of his Tin Box cab with us while we were all together and this wine represents him perfectly. This is a bold, in your face cab, that blows big fruit on the nose, and gripping tannins that want to beat you like a pulp, then let go just as soft as they were strong. Big boy cab, ladies and gentlemen. — 9 years ago
