ask the wine guy for something unusual, something off the beaten path and he recommends this delicious dry 100% Palomino w/some bottle age: definitely a food wine, light greenish straw color w/fairly austere nose full of minerals, lanolin, herbaceous musk, white flowers (jasmine), ginger & some spices. on palate it is rigid & angular, zesty acidity, some citrus but mostly minerals & herbs, quinine, screams for briny foods - we had this w/deli section fare & salad. — 7 months ago

At La Gazzetta Italian restaurant for the second time. The first wine we tried here last time we didn’t like so we tried a different, more expensive one this time. Much better experience by spending a few more Euros…22.50€ on the wine list but the only charged us 18.50€ because we told them we didn’t like their 18.50€ wine. Red fruit has never been as regal. The visual experience is bathed in red elegance. A hint of licorice in the nose, followed by an explosion of berries all over the place, and then the most beautiful silk as it fades into a long, subtle farewell. A beautiful surprise every time. — 8 years ago
