Overview Made from 100% Kakhuri Mtsvane, this dry amber wine honors Kakheti’s traditional qvevri methods — months of skin contact to build texture, color, and complexity. (Educational note: “Mtsvane” in Georgian means “new” or “green,” often referencing the grape’s fresh, aromatic character.)
Aromas & Flavors Apricot, dried citrus peel, and quince lead, layered with wild herbs, honey, and subtle tea notes. Secondary touches of almond skin and soft spice bring depth.
Mouthfeel Medium-bodied, with firm tannic grip from skin contact. Earthy and textured, yet buoyed by refreshing acidity. The finish is long, dry, and slightly savory.
Food Pairings Pairs beautifully with walnut-based Georgian dishes, lamb kebabs, or grilled eggplant. Also works wonderfully with Middle Eastern mezze or aged goat cheese.
Verdict A bold and authentic Kakhetian amber wine — grippy, aromatic, and full of character. The 2021 vintage leans more matured than a fresh 2023 would, but still retains vibrancy and expression. 🍷

Hidden Gem 💎 Kakhuri Mtsvane remains one of Georgia’s more obscure indigenous grapes. This bottling is a rare opportunity to taste qvevri amber wine from that varietal — a true find. — 23 days ago
French style label. Apparently made in clay in the ground. Smells of herbs and grape must. Hints of woodsy stuff. Hot day in the woods. Flavors are nice. Grippy and dry. Lots of berry stuff. Richer and denser flavors of the wine than expected once you smell it. — 2 years ago
