Holy crap. Bold, complex, really good 2008. In a magnum, maybe that helped this wine age so well over the years. Knockout wine. — 9 years ago

Dark ruby in color with a purplish rim.
Sweet nose of blackberries, sweet cherries, black currants, oak, vanilla, licorice, cloves, spices, chocolates, mocha, coffee, cocoa, tobacco and black pepper.
Full bodied and bold with medium plus acidity and long legs.
Sweet on the palate with blackberries, black currants, cherry pie, figs, raisins, vanilla, oak, licorice, cloves, spices, alcohol, chocolates, tobacco, mocha, earth, peppercorn and coffee.
Long sweet finish.
This portogese Port is always enjoyable. Well balanced with nice complexity.
Not too complex, but very enjoyable by itself. Showing a bit too much alcohol on the palate and better a bit chilled.
I paired it with chocolate covered pomegranates.
20% alcohol by volume.
89 points.

Always a fav. Total Wine $27 — 8 years ago
Really enjoyed the fruit, acid and tannins all working well together in this wine. $50 is a little high price point… I try to stay away from new world cab, but finding good producers like this is fun. — 4 years ago
Great blended malt scotch. Slightly sweet. — 5 years ago
46% Cabernet franc, 27% merlot, 14%petit Verdot, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon. This, despite the high content of cab franc, is quite light. Acidity is up front with the first flavors of plums, oranges, and cherries. Slight notes of oak follow and a bright finish. Easy to drink. — 6 years ago
Dark berries, plums, cocoa. Light body, nice texture. $27 — 7 years ago

A delicious left bank Bordeaux which greatly beneifted from a 60+ minute decant. The nose presents fig jam & blueberry along with notes of anise, cocoa, and pencil lead. The palate is impressively well balanced with flavors of blueberry and blackberry along with tertiary notes of sage & leather along with well integrated tannins and a bright acidity. Paired equally well with both filet mignon on day 1 & burgers on day 2! ($33) [5/27/22] — 4 years ago
