Very nice. Tastes like watered down 18 — 10 years ago
Still has nice tart blackberries and great tannin structure 16 years on. — 10 years ago
Loys of bright red fruit and a bubbly, full mouthfeel that's rather unique. — 10 years ago
Very clean and well balanced cab, but lacks a little complexity near the end, great wine aroma, and sweet in the finish, beautiful rich red color — 11 years ago
Excellent single malt scotch. — 12 years ago
Had this 1year ago. Founded in 1979 by John Shafer, went from riding trains in Chicago to riding a TD-9 tractor in Napa. Blend of 56%Merlot, 28%Cab Sauv & 16%Malbec, aged for 20 mos French oak, despite 15.3% ABV, it’s well balanced. Wonderful berry fruit aromas, flavors of cherry, jammy blackberry and rasp with notes of cacao and sweet herbs. Lingering finish ending with earthy mineral. Had this with a USDA prime Fillet. Drink now & over next few years, any longer the wine will lose vibrant quality. Nice! — 7 years ago
Slight nose of Scotch. Smoke, oak, and chocolate notes. — 9 years ago

GW tasting 9/28/16. Magnum. Nose with less fruit and more oxidative sherry notes that are pleasant. Palate that's very balanced with acids and minerals. Looking complex finish. Excellent. Color that's a bit brownish. — 10 years ago

Sept: always a great month-wedding anniversary, humidity gone, and Bogle releases Phantom. The 04 was served at my wedding. This wine still never fails to impress. Consistently punching above its weight, the newest iteration ('12) is nuanced, toasty and complicated. Lots of smoky tannins take over after a nose that is a healthy mix of floral notes and crushed stone. Tart, jammy, but never in your face dark berry flavors gently coat the tongue. Finish is clean and fruit forward. Buy now. Drink over 7 years. 16 bucks at trader Joe's. In my experience, the wine is gone within a month or less on release. — 11 years ago
Dark plum color. Uninteresting nose. Plum flavors. Sweet, but not cloying. Light balanced tannins and acidity. Full flavor without being heavy. Very easy to drink. I really like this wine. — 13 years ago
Nicely balanced....16% notwithstanding. Very enjoyable for a blowy fall evening. — 8 years ago

Bought at Starrs 6/16/16 $30 — 10 years ago
Has held up quite nicely considering sir Parker's initial 86 rating. Great earthiness, black fruit, tobacco and spice and completely smooth and lacking any tannins whatsoever. Was go time 5 years ago but still held up quite nicely - Carl's place 06-02-16 — 10 years ago
4 hour decant: rich, deep nose of blackberry preserves, dark chocolate, tobacco, and fresh mint. Seductive on the palate, with dark fruits and black licorice. Just enough acidity to have a sense of balance, but definitely is a Aussie Shiraz. Finish lingers with excellent length. 16% ABV on the label, could be up to 17.5% by law. — 10 years ago
Another awesome experience. Taken from notes after long 16 days in Australia. Good structure great body and still had tannins. Very impressive! — 12 years ago
Great Chardonnay .... Oaky and creamy — 13 years ago

16 years and held up well. Smoother now then when I first remember trying to the 2003. Blackberry hint with a licorice finish. Enjoyed with friends for relaxing after Christmas evening. — 7 years ago
