Light yellow golden color and white stone fruits with hints of oil and salinity carrying through to acidic biting palate with lively if not elegant texture and good length. Surprised to see on back label as 100% Chardonnay which in retrospect makes sense. Excellent. Checked list, was GL 2010 13.6 value, only two bottles with one gone to Maria/Ali so no more! Also two of same from Haute Vallee instead of Oceanique which hopefully still in stash. Made exactly the same way but from district vineyard terroir. Too bad can’t make direct comparison. — 5 years ago

@Mike R @David L @Joe Lucca @Ron R @Paul T The WOTN was a beauty so generously given to me by my Bud Paul Treadway! Thanks Paul!!! The tasting notes between the Beau Vigne Estate and Morlet's Coeur de Vallee are eerily similar. The true differentiation between the 2 is Morlet's seem less integration at this time. My buddy Kirk @Kirk Alexander always says "The test of a great wine is when nothing jumps out at you". This particular bottle did just that. Every person this evening commented on the fact that it was such a superbly balanced wine. It was dialed back ever so slightly in all the right spots for it to dance on your palate effortlessly.

It was enjoyed by friends outdoors on this beautiful S FL cool night. What else could one ask for?

Laser beam to my Chardonnay pleasure center. Such focused orchard fruit, flint and sappiness , with a hint of salinity. Reductive (surprise!) upon opening, much more giving with a couple hours in the decanter. Every time I question the QPR of white Burgundy, Roulot reels me back in. Thanks, @Evan Vallee. 10 years on lees. Rich and creamy style of champagne with stewed nectarine and lemon curd. Super fine bubbles, a very intense pleasure to drink, the kind you never want to end. 2001 vintage is a 70% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay. Vallee de la Marne. Exquisite. — 9 years ago
