One of the better DEIs — 6 months ago
Bright, effervescent red. Starts off kind of tasting like wet socks and then smooths and rounds out to dried apricot, green apple, and cinnamon, with a tart finish. Definitely something to worth chillingl! — 9 months ago
Haven’t had this in years and missed it like crazy — 4 years ago
This Mexican red wine certainly feels earthy and fruity like other Valle de Guadalupe wines I have had. This wine, though comes from the Italian grape Nebbiolo, doesn’t really have the sharpness (full tannins) most Italian wines have and most often need a food pairing. This wine because it’s light, smooth and almost Zin-like without being overly sweet. — 5 years ago

Wow. This was fun. Great vintage. Still wound tight. — 7 years ago
Probably my favorite “cheap” Italian red. Though tannic, well balanced w dark rich fruit, high acidity, and 14% al. Earthy in a great way. Great nose. Long finish. Nice alone. Or drink w meats and/or robust pasta. $18. (One weird item: there is no vintage year on the bottle). — 7 years ago
This Albariño shows lemon, lime and lanolin on the nose, with a whiff of apricot. The pale color is that of golden straw, and the palate comes forth with a mighty acidity and a mouthful of green apples, on the tart side. Minerality makes a big play, and the finish is medium-long with a citrus zestiness. — 8 years ago
Botte 47. Phenomenally complex and constantly evolving. Initially savory with some animal fur, toasty honey (aged semillon) notes, slight star fruit. Then it evolved into dried flowers, mushroom, and dark fruit - reminded me of a young Barolo. Then black tea, green tea. Then strong dried spearmint, honeyed toasty complexity like the '81 Lopez de Heredia. Medium bodied with slightly elevated sparkling acidity. Not intense, but persistent on the palate. To borrow a phrase from Veronelli- It burrowed into my memory. I hope it made me forever better. — 10 years ago

Funky and surprising without losing a floral crispness. Bright tangerine, jasmine nose — 6 years ago
Cranberry and earthy notes on the nose. Leads with some light berry notes and some funk. White pepper and light minerality on the finish. Delicious — 7 years ago
This was black as my soul. Seriously. So much suspended particulates. Still very good — 7 years ago
Smell like a Dr Pepper but with none of the additives (obviously). Skrate cherry cola. Cranberry and cutting acidity. Supple and generous but light and pristine at the same time. Vg — 8 years ago
