2019 is still full of soft, beautiful fruit, alongside gentle smokiness and dust. — 8 months ago
Medium ruby in color; cherries, black pepper, and smoke on the nose; high acidity; medium tannins; tastes like sour cherries, clay pots, and strawberries with a long finish. It really opened up after decanting for about an hour. Nellie says she likes the flavor, but it's really acidic. Should be great with a creamy pasta. I agree it's too acidic without food. — 9 months ago
This is the kind of Pinot I love. Fruit in the nose, dirt and tannins in the taste. I’m a big fan of this one. The comments are ridiculous. — 4 years ago
Slightly sweet went well with chicken tender salads on 7.04.19. 2016 vintage if that really matters here.... — 5 years ago
Petillant, tart, juicy, unexpectedly rich for a natural. — 6 years ago
Smell like a Dr Pepper but with none of the additives (obviously). Skrate cherry cola. Cranberry and cutting acidity. Supple and generous but light and pristine at the same time. Vg — 6 years ago
Botte 47. Phenomenally complex and constantly evolving. Initially savory with some animal fur, toasty honey (aged semillon) notes, slight star fruit. Then it evolved into dried flowers, mushroom, and dark fruit - reminded me of a young Barolo. Then black tea, green tea. Then strong dried spearmint, honeyed toasty complexity like the '81 Lopez de Heredia. Medium bodied with slightly elevated sparkling acidity. Not intense, but persistent on the palate. To borrow a phrase from Veronelli- It burrowed into my memory. I hope it made me forever better. — 8 years ago

Bingo. A real gem. So good we had two bottles. Great balance, full bodied yet restrained and not overcharged. Perhaps it takes a decade to properly show itself! Well worth it. — 11 years ago
So good! Slightly effervescent, slightly perfumy, citrus. Hazy and wonderful. — 6 months ago

The 2019 Nobile di Montepulciano is a pleasure on the nose. Sweet spice complements raspberry and cherry aromas. Juicy acidity balances silky textures as rose-tinged red berries cascade across the palate. There’s a gentle coating of fine tannins and lovely energy as hard red candy hints fade. $25.00 (Eric Guido, Vinous, November 2023) — 7 months ago
Surprisingly complex, barnyard smell, unfiltered cider, grapefruit minerality, apple, funky. Better with food than on its own. Initial effervescence disappears quickly. Touch of honey. — 8 months ago
Really good but drink around now. Stewed fruits but still fresh. Not a Bordeaux style but a bit larger with elegant and a bit of power. Glad I could share this with my folks. Fruits are rhubarb now after about an hour. Leaning down a little but still good. Definitely open the bottle of you have it soon imo — 9 months ago
This Mexican red wine certainly feels earthy and fruity like other Valle de Guadalupe wines I have had. This wine, though comes from the Italian grape Nebbiolo, doesn’t really have the sharpness (full tannins) most Italian wines have and most often need a food pairing. This wine because it’s light, smooth and almost Zin-like without being overly sweet. — 4 years ago
Cranberry and earthy notes on the nose. Leads with some light berry notes and some funk. White pepper and light minerality on the finish. Delicious — 5 years ago
Full bodied (for its varietal). Black fruit, raspberry jam and a tad of mint on the nose. Balanced mature acidity. Tight, low/medium tannins. An all around excellent specimens of VNdM. — 6 years ago
Dark fruits were still rich and vibrant, with hints of licorice, exotic spices, grilled herbs, earth and forrest floor. Tobacco and leather and little smoke. Great w meaty pasta dish. — 8 years ago

Wine dinner with big group including Butch neighbor Art, Philip and Bewan. Great wine and needing more time! Still prominent but soft tannins and wrapped in more sumptuous garb than the regular Cab. So keep the remaining three in storage! — 5 months ago
