Presented double-blind. The wine pours a light straw color with medium viscosity and no signs of particles or gas. On the nose, the wine is developing with tart and ripe notes of apple, pear, underripe pineapple, lemon curd, nuts and minerals. I felt like there was some deft use of oak. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+, bordering on high acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and chocked full of minerals. My immediate impression was Bourgogne Blanc and I was having a hard time getting away from it. So I called Chardonnay, from France, Burgundy, Chassagne-Montrachet with 3-5 years of age. Gosh dammit! Margaret River strikes again!!! Blind, I always seem to call these Chablis or some other high quality white Burg. And I adore the Leeuwin Estate Art Series Chardonnays. They always impress me. Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2020 Reserva pours a deep ruby/purple with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and tart dark fruits: blackberry, black cherry, toasted coconut, dill, vanilla, wood, and associated baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Already balanced but the oak is playing a significant role at this stage (this is traditionally made Rioja Reserva we’re talking about). There is plenty of stuffing however and I expect this will become even more balanced with some time on its side. Want to see a wine under $20 that can age for 30 years? Welp, here you go. This is a very distinctive, powerful and deep Zinfandel from Lodi, California. Vertically Sourced and produced by Oak Ridge from its own ancient +100-year-old vines. It packs tons of dark cherry and berries and is very chocolaty, since this is a reserve version, the lingering oak and texture is very long but not overwhelming. — 5 months ago

Inky in color with a short reddish rim. Not showing much age.

Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with blackberries, black currants, plums, cooked cherries, dried figs, raisins, cedar, licorice, vanilla, tobacco, herbs, spices, cola, light eucalyptus and black pepper

Long finish with fine grained tannins and cherries.

This is a gorgeous Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley. Rich, extracted and fruit forward. Soft and elegant, yet in your face kind of wine. Tangy and interesting.

Good right out of the bottle and a great pop and pour wine, with a great nose, right out of the bottle.

This 14 year old Napa Cabernet is drinking beautifully now. Big and juicy. Tannins are nicely integrated by now, and so is the alcohol.

Peaking now and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 to 7 years.

Nicely balanced at this point, and showing a smooth mouthfeel. Complex and interesting by itself as a sipping wine, to share with good friends. It's a shame that this rare wine is no longer being produced.

A great sipping wine that will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.

Toasty and alcohol dominant upfront, but a little decant or time in the glass and this peppery, oaky, berry petite Syrah is ended up nicely. Actually had enough glycerol flavor and structure to have some layering of flavors after 30 minutes, and would likely be even better in a couple more years. Dark fruit moves to the forefront with balanced spice and wood with some time. Not a huge wine, but really good value. — 7 years ago

The 2020 Clio is a blend of 70% Monastrell and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from the Zingla Vineyard, which was planted in 1936 in Jumilla. Aged for 22 months in French and American oak barrels, this garnet wine unfolds in the glass with ripe black fruit and dried fruit notes, layered with herbal and oaky nuances and a prominent vanilla tone.
