From the private stash at Vérité another Pierre Seillan wine that captures his innate imperative to march to the beat of his own drum. Tannat, CS, CF and Malbec with a spritely nose of citrus and dark cherries (made me think of a Chianti) but bright and good-tangy, perfect for hot-sunny-day Rose that actually walks the tightrope between red and white like the greatest Wallenda. — 10 years ago
Does an amazing job of walking the tightrope of new/old world, fleshy fruit (pear, quince, pomelo), with just enough acid to keep it in balanced. A bit of nutty bitterness at the finish-- what it needed..,. — 10 years ago

Best Pinot Gris we've found. Full of flavour and the right amount of sweet. Almost syrupy texture. Amazing. Tightrope and Gray Monk come in second and third. — 9 years ago
Fantastic NZ Sauv Blanc! Attractive light green; gooseberries(!), grapefruit, clean apple cider, with a faint hint of green peppercorns, cooked sage, and line zest; stunning acidity and tightrope balance. Could drink this every day! Absolutely fantastic with grilled lobster and monkfish. — 10 years ago
Just delicious. Just starting to veer over into aged character. At first opening, very little fruit but blossomed into golden apple. Lush. Tightrope balance in a pretty dress. Great with whole fish. — 10 years ago
Straw yellow & medium viscosity. Tropical aromas & racy acidity punctuates notes of under-ripe peach & lush pineapple. Walks a tightrope of ripeness & lean crisp fruit, enhanced with a mineral finish. — 11 years ago
Only six thousand bottles from a 1 ha plot! A perennial favourite of mine. Love the tightrope balance of opulence and restraint. Slightly tannic, delicious texture. Nutty, appley and immensely complex. — 9 years ago
Dried raisin, licorice, classic Italia nose. Palette walks a tightrope between dusty and savory. Good length. Prime food wine. 2008 had a lot of life in it. — 9 years ago

So, so, so good. Exactly the right amount of RS and screaming acid. 200-pound barbell on a tightrope. Oozes Chenin-y power: baked apples, beeswax, salt, honeysuckle, aged cheddar, and crushed white stone. Pinguets at the hight of his powers in a stellar vintage. Hope there are more in the pipeline like this. Demi-sec is my favorite style from the house and probably the most age-able table-wine style, as the Molleux are too sweet for anything but cheese, in general. Drink from now until the end of time. — 10 years ago
Fruit forward but delicate. Walking a tightrope and I love it. — 11 years ago
This wine has rescued my taste buds from several recent lackluster wines - it is absolutely delicious! A blend of 8 varieties including Bobal, Grenache & Cab Franc. This wine is rich, luxurious, headily aromatic, deep, darkly fruity and balanced like a tightrope walker. Find it, drink it, love it! :) — 11 years ago
October Cleveland
Piney, earthy nose. Bright, dry acid, dirt. Tightrope tight. — 8 years ago
