Nice sweet refreshing red. — 7 years ago
Yet another great vintage of what I consider a standard of FLX Riesling. Beautiful nose of lemon/lime and minerals with a slight floral component. Green apple with a hint of lemon on the pallet. Perfect balance and body with gripping acid. It is amazing as to how positively consistent this wine is year after year. Fresh and vibrant after almost three years in the bottle. Revisited this one in July 2019. Still excellent! — 7 years ago
Here was the head scratcher of the night, courtesy of @Andrew Heffley . I'm no Syrah expert, but I'm beginning to be more curious about them. Upon opening, this wine's nose was basically giving us the finger saying not even close to ready. Very leathery. Others mentioned how much of a barnyard smell it had. I got zero fruit notes at first. We all revisited it three hours later and felt like it was just beginning to open...tart blackberries and pepper showed up. This Syrah will undoubtedly age for many years to come. Would be very curious to see how a 2007 is tasting right now in comparison. — 8 years ago
Favorite of the three single vineyards I tasted: picture compressed shelf of shale, crunchy layers of texture & fruit, crackling acid. Finger Lakes grosses gewächs. — 9 years ago
Was a great wine went well with some finger foods on a nice day at the Vinyard. — 9 years ago
Excellent strawberry and restrained, but present oak. New find for me, and probably one of my top three favorite FLX Pinot's from 2012. — 10 years ago
Full bodied, excellent with heavy Norwegian Christmas dishes like pinnekjøtt and pork. — 6 years ago
Better and better over three days open. — 7 years ago
Jack: If they want to drink Merlot, we're drinking Merlot.
Miles: No, if anyone orders Merlot, I'm leaving. I am NOT drinking any F%$&ING Merlot!
The Miles Raymond I know would order a second bottle of this and then call his ex-wife from the restaurant pay phone... it’s that good. — 7 years ago
Fox Run. Anthony Road. Red Newt. Three wineries come together to make Tierce. This vintage was served at Obama's first inauguration lunch. ❤ — 8 years ago
Megan's wine of the night.
Absolutely superb. Definitely old world versus New World. Layers upon layers of deep and rich spice, prune and perhaps some type of herb that I could not place my finger on. you felt a kicking in on the back palate. It had so much going on that you relished every sip. This has another 20 years in front of it easily. It was just a baby tonight. No Decant!!!! Just popped and poured and it was sublime!. Thank goodness I have one left!!!!! Megan is developing an incredible Palate! She knew exactly what she did and did not like this evening. This immediately struck a chord and placed first. In all honesty, we are splitting hairs when it comes to the wines that we poured this evening. This was in my top three as well. Bravo Megan!!! This 100 point beauty definitely lived up to its hype. — 8 years ago
Almost one finger foam and has nice lacing. It has an Amber color. Nice smell and taste some citrus. Overall, it's a very nice beer — 9 years ago
This is my favorite red wine, so far. I try to have it on hand to enjoy when I want to have a glass of wine. — 10 years ago
What a difference a day makes. Scored this wine an incredible 9.5 three years ago. Now I can only give it a 8.9 at best. I couldn’t get over the oak that kept overruling any kind of fruit that I think was hiding somewhere. After 3 hours of decanting it gained a bit more complexity but still far off the previous mark. — 7 years ago
Wifey is unwell, and subtly directed me to focus on the French stuff, so here we are...
For once, “I got my mind right, boss,” and let this breathe for 5 hrs, and lawdy, this is singing.
The nose offers up new oak, cinnamon and a hint of molasses. The palate presents ripe and balanced. Tannins are still bold, but frame the wine superbly. Finishes with black fruits and uncommon sweetness for a bdx example. After my week-day sabbatical from alcohol, this represents a great three-finger salute (control-alt-delete). — 7 years ago
If you cross paths with Nathan or his wine, definitely snag a bottle or three. This 2013 Riesling is tasting awesome right now. Paired it with a spicier meal and wasn’t disappointed. — 8 years ago
You can rarely be disappointed by a HJW wine. This late-released 2014 riesling is a mind blower. As a wine with grapes selected from their three vineyards, the complexity and richness are incredible compares to the other HJW rieslings. Yet this wine retains the consistent balance, delicacy and roundness as always. White flower, peach and citrus on the nose. Perfectly balanced dryness(sweetness) and acidity(medium-) on the palate. Great depth with minerality bursting on all dimensions. It is powerful, but has a soft touch, which is the HJW style IMHO. — 9 years ago

First New York made table wine I've fallen in love with. Great balance between fruit and spice, which I guess is what Cab Franc x Merlot is all about. Mouthfeel is wonderful. Wish it was just two or three dollars cheaper (it is a table wine after all!) Guess I'll just have to buy it by the case for a discount! 🤩 — 6 years ago
