Different forgetting details but not really a "winey" quality — 8 years ago
Great wine. From a small volcanic island off Sicily. Dark color. Smoky charcoal embers, dark minerals, and winey macerated black cherry fruit. Mouthfilling and rich, but buoyed up by an incredible piercing mineral streak. Looong finish with excellent acidity. Blind I would have said old school Barolo. Not even close! — 9 years ago

Terrific bottle of a very Burgundian style of Oregon pinot noir that would surely fool many in a blind tasting. The last time I had Evesham Wood I think it was the just-released 1998 or 1999 - wish I hadn't let them fly under my radar all these years. It's ready to go from the pop of the cork, no sweet New World froot here, instead it's already winey but still having a sizable scale and a very solid, robust presence with stony flavors to go along with it - it reminds me very much of a Corton, though with a bit more rosy florality seeping in around the edges. It turns more feminine with the florals moving to the foreground with air, very gentle in its weight. — 10 years ago
Very rich and smooth easy drinking. Lots of complex old world fruits, leathery. Part of our new London wine cellar and opened for a lovely winey friend evening — 6 years ago
For the Sour Wench: EXCELLENT blackberry beer. It's sour up front, tart blackberry finish. One of my favorite breweries- and one of my new favorites by them. — 8 years ago

Inexpensive and higher alcohol content. Tastes a little more winey and less sugary than most Moscatos. — 10 years ago
1997. Light gold. Mature sherry like hazelnut overripe apple nose. Winey, low bubbles. Even a touch of tannin on the finish. Great streamlined body. Complexity and nuance along with the solid structure. Impressive and interesting. — 10 years ago
Dark color of bruised plums or uncooked steaks. I like the smell. Kinda of fleshy and deep. Fruits with ‘winey’ stuff, like must while the wine is fermenting. The wine in the mouth is lovely. Slightly smoky. Peppery. Bitter and licorice-y. It’s an example of what CA could do with the French blending style in an affordable red. Also promotes and works for trout habitat so that’s bonus points. — 6 years ago
What you get for the extra $10 (and 250ml less) from Emperatriz Eugenia is massive compared to the entry Don Nuno (both Oloroso). Depth, complexity, something to think about.
Mahogany caramel colored with aromas of sandalwood and sweet dates. Winey sweet palette of dried figs, golden raisins, and burnt toffee. — 6 years ago
Beautiful aged smell, bright molasses but old winey, very good, strong, color rusty magenta, wet big comes on so strong so pungent, 2005 seems good now — 8 years ago
This is some serious sh*t for a Chianti Classico. Textbook nose of ripe, dark winey cherry fruit, shot through with warm gravelly minerals. Powerful but lithe in the mouth. Long, ripe, minerally finish with great acids. Got that wonderful transparency that really good Chianti can have. — 9 years ago
Really solid effort. Bright sourness, winey tannins, and expressive dry straw quality balanced with just a touch of fruitiness. — 10 years ago
Took 4/5 of the bottle to get used to it but I got there. Fine, winey, sour cherry flavors. Distinctive. — 10 years ago

‘Cool castle bro’ label. Deep red color. Smells like old books, dry cherries and unsweetened chocolate nibs. Flavors are strange with gun-smoke tea, fancy tonic water and berry pies. Plenty dry. Chewy. Complex. Winey, like a Winesap apple. It’s not raisin-y. It could have more depth and bite perhaps, but overall it’s very enjoyable. — 6 years ago
