Dry, oaky, lots of dark fruit, cherries, chocolate, delicious. Pairs great with smoked meat and duck confit. — 7 years ago
Daniel Johannes find, love affair with the red (cab franc)- similar vibrancy also lifts this chenin above the 12$ pack. — 8 years ago
Full bodied, rich, voluptuous, a decedent collection of wild fruits. It's an affair! — 8 years ago
Fruité, très acidulé, frais, touche de sucre qui balance bien le tout, rappelle le fruit de la passion et l'ananas — 9 years ago
A lovely find. Almond-skin, honeysuckle, orange & lemon blossoms, peach sorbet, and a generally delicate but exotic profile. Lively acid. Always a love affair with classic Viognier. — 9 years ago
Words can’t describe my love affair with this wine. My 6y describes it as “lemony. The sun, a treasure, smells like gold”. It’s hard for me to argue with him. Silky ripe lemon with a heavy mineral chalk component on the front palate. I wish it lasted a little longer in the finish but still soft and expressive. Out of magnum second day. — 7 years ago
Hitting the decanter now... It's been 6.5 years (Aug 2011) since our last check in on this bottle, it was very good then, but still needed time. We hope tonight is the night; last bottle, thank you Crush NYC for providing us this opportunity.
Light green pepper notes on the nose, we are likely to come back to this 24hr+ for more enjoyment. Palate has green pepper, under ripe strawberry and golden raisen, tannins are in a perfect place. Damn you finicky Syrah.
24 hour update: As expected, this is a completely different bottle tonight, and truthfully the most apt description is as such, blueberry jam spread on old leather with a dose of black currant juice sprinkled over the whole affair, so good, glad we waited. (BTW if you never had black currant juice, seek it out, tasty stuff.) — 7 years ago
This is very light. I’m blinded in a Manfred Mann kinda way. Subdued. This could become a true love affair based on respect, admiration and tasty tannins. — 8 years ago
Food and wine affair — 8 years ago
Loving the addition of Picpoul to this vintage! Brighter acidity and citrus notes with a hint of spice. My love affair with this producer continues . . . — 8 years ago
Kelly Fleming Vineyards.
Sophisticated & elegant yet simply unrefined. Very approachable at such a young age but don’t underestimate the depth & complexity of this beauty.
I’ve tried so, not to give in.
I’ve said to myself this affair would never go so well
But why should I try to resist when I know so well
That I’ve got you, under my skin?
Slowly, softly, patiently...I wait... — 7 years ago
I had a love affair with this wine tonight. It’s like a dusty fruit punch berry on the nose and remarkably balanced. Medium light tannin — 7 years ago

Vin de soif par excellence... Or some such mixed string of foreign languages to indicate approval. — 8 years ago

I’m not familiar with Tempranillo, so I am unsure what its specific contribution to the wine is. I can only compare the wine to the Brothers and Sisters cabernet I’ve recently fallen in love with.
By George shares the same elegance as its sister wine, with a more savoury core, eschewing some sweetness and vibrancy, for darker more brooding flavours. Dark plum, cherry and dried blueberry fruits set the scene, but it’s the smoky cured meats, volcanic rock, cedar and tobacco on the mid and back palate that bring the party to life. It’s a flavour profile I haven’t encountered before, but I like it a lot. The soft tannins are well integrated, the balance slightly acidic, but not objectionable, lending a lingering spiciness to the finish.
Another Fox Gordon masterpiece. The love affair continues… — 9 years ago

Currently having a love affair with Alsatian and Austrian wines. Beautiful golden color, smells like musky green apple, honeydew, and sunshine. Very acidic, tense, brimming with energy, honey and apple and lime. — 6 years ago
