Still plenty of personality to this, but neither the freshest nor cleanest bottle of wine you're likely to come across. Starts out smelling of musty attic and old used books, and it never kicks it entirely, but does pick up enough other elements like cedar and cigar box to keep things interesting. What it doesn't really pick up is any fruit, which is fine for its age, but it's a bit disappointing once you compare it to something like the '75 Beychevelle which is in much better shape now with plenty more stuffing. The tannins have completely melted away so the texture is fine and it goes down easy. Interesting now, but would have been better 5-10 years ago. — 8 years ago
A flowering plum w a bit of chocolate and raspberry flavor. For the 2010, suspect a decanting is in order or waiting a year or two. Goes great for home cooked dinner w my youngest son consuming Alaskan king Crab, a bone in ribeye and some toasted Kale. Of course, what wouldn't? — 9 years ago

Cassis and dried thyme. A hint of the signature American oak still hitting you up front. Cedar and tobacco. Goes on and on. — 6 years ago
Classic label with gold thing on. Was recommended by a friend. Goes well with "The Black Keys". Smooth and not too sweet. — 8 years ago
Made in a true French tradition of 'wine goes with food'. It's one of those subtle Sonoma wines that does not try to overpower everything. While it can stand on its own, it is quite diverse for pairing with Coq au Vin, pork tenderloin and of course, a big juicy porterhouse. We love going to Jordan's winery because it is like stepping off at the local chateaux in France, with the symmetry of the chestnut trees lining the courtyard and the neoclassical architecture. The wine reflects these surroundings in its balance, as well. — 8 years ago

Bright apple flavors, not too sweet with a light cirrus bite at the end. Perfect accompaniment to spicy Asian food but goes well with Ethiopian or Jamaican also. — 11 years ago
The Standard!!! Goes great with pizza, Italian, cheese, or just by itself! I have been enjoying this wine since the mid 90s and it has been a mainstay every year! — 7 years ago
No orange rim in the glas. The wine is dark red with a slight sign of its age. Leather on the nose, red fruits too. Tobacco, spice. The palate is phenomenal. Multidimensional. Long with an acid frame that goes for ever. Wide with fully integrated tannins made of velvet. Strawberry, blackberry, black currant. The finish is long and remains there floating in the air like the final high note of a musical masterpiece — 8 years ago

My friend Cliff gave me a bottle years ago. That was awesome, and goes as the best I've had ever (until recently). Does this compare? YES. Nearly a decade later, this is smooth, mellow, lovely, still years from decline. Still a top 5. Finish like silk - smooth whispery Delightful. Needs time to open. Will post this, then amend later... — 11 years ago
