When first pouring a slight violet tinge to the wine. full on the mouth and juicy. Smells of black cherry, black currant, slightly jammy. Also strong sage with cigar box/cedar and bacon fat. Like it. As to tastes, sour cherry, leather, black pepper and a touch of vanilla. Sourish notes being the dominant taste.

Sticking with the pinot's I have opened the 2013 Tabali Talinay Coastal Limestone Vineyard Pinot Noir from Chile.

On the nose there are beautiful fruit and complex notes of cherry, cranberry, raspberry, floral notes of violet, vanilla, light oak and an earthy component.

On the palate a wonderful notes of cranberry, raspberry, cherry, forest soil and a bit of minerality.

This is a medium bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium fine tannins that leads to a lovely long crisp finish with good fruit right to the end. It just doesn't seem to want to quit and it will carry you right into the next sip. I am totally into this wine and may have to go and purchase a few more bottles. Lots of smells such as light pepper/spice, blackberry, plum, bramble, cigar box, sweet pipe tobacco, black olive, cured meat etc. On the palate, still dense with black fruits, a touch of oakiness, pum and peppery spice. This is 100 percent Cabernet Franc that is grown at 820 feet and spent 12 months in French Oak. The nose shows; ripe blackberries, strawberries, dark cherries, vanilla, cinnamon, red florals, red licorice and soft loamy dry soils. Tannins are M+. Blackberries, dark cherries, cocoa powder, expresso, dark chocolate, poached strawberries, dark moist earth, a little leather and beautiful red & pink florals.
