Red fruit, iodine, eucalyptus and bramble. — 6 months ago
Still delicious and has changed less with age than I expected. Not sure if I should have sat on it longer. It has gotten nuttier with hazelnut becoming more prominent. Still a lot of oak and lemon, with a touch of flint and brioche. It’s — 7 months ago
One of the best. Favorite vineyard. Always perfectly balanced and exactly what we’re looking for in a Pinot. — 2 years ago
Besides having a great, cool label - Herman Story wines are so spectacular. This is not your standard “red blend” & the Tempranillo/Petit Verdot give a great complexity. Easily paired w/ a huge range of food. — 4 years ago
Medium pink; medium plus intensity aromas of ripe strawberries, raspberry, red currant, mushroom, forest floor, limestone mineral; dry, medium acid, high alcohol, full body, medium plus intensity flavors consistent with aromas; long finish, ripe red fruit and funky earthy perfume fills palate, big wine but well balanced, outstanding — 5 years ago
Wow delightful and refreshing. Lemon/rind and mineral. Get some! — 6 years ago
A great '94 Old Hill still cruising along. Beautiful aged Zinfandel nose of red cherries and mint. Still firmly tannic. — 8 years ago
Good Merlot — 12 years ago
This is a layered narrative of dark fruits, a dash of black pepper, and that unmistakable hint of smoky earth. And undeniably funky. It’s not just about boldness; it’s about a refined grit, a raw elegance that speaks of rugged vineyards and uncompromising craftsmanship. — 5 months ago
Love it. Frank Family Tasting - 3/5
Amazing Cabernet Sauvignon bland from Winston Hill and Rutherford. — 10 months ago
No surprise to see a Herman Story review from me but this Grenache was real nice. It had a very rich mouthfeel and coated your entire mouth in a satisfying blanket of goodness. The flavors waited a minute and came rushing in. It was a bit of a strip tease frankly. This is a richer and more fulsome Grenache with complex stories to tell. Very much enjoyed this! — 5 years ago
Fabulous table wine. The Australian version of The Chocolate Block. Affordable too. From Wine Rack in Belsize. — 5 years ago
Just balanced thread of Shiraz pepper and velvet consistency on the tongue. Will age very well, but very good now also. — 8 years ago
Still just a baby, tightly wound with showing mineral/graphite notes as the longer it decants the fruit starts to show on the finish. Great aging potential. — 9 years ago
Surprisingly good — 10 years ago
Really nice stuff — 12 years ago
A Fav! Medium lemon color with aromas of stone fruits, spice, floral, cedar, biscuits and citrus. On the palate flavors of apple, pear & ripe apricot with citrus zest, honeysuckle and nutty toasty oak notes, rich with creamy tones. Smooth, long finish, well balanced with acidity, ending with fruit and integrated creamy oak. Nice! — 6 months ago
2008 vintage. Had never come across the "Little Hill" until today. Light-medium body. Decanted and was fairly musty for 2-3 minutes before it started to blossom. Some blue fruit/menthol/eucalyptus throughout the experience. Demonstrative spice component on the back end. Could really only ding this on being slightly "watery" on the front palate. Otherwise, this is kicking now and has plenty of life and love to give. 5.27.23 — 2 years ago
Totally enjoyable. Steamers and salmon. — 5 years ago
A tropical fruit filled chilled SB with jumbo stone crab in a summer like day.
Life goes on! — 5 years ago
Slight vanilla and crisp smell. Some pear too. Taste has some bitter and sour notes but malactic makes it a little smoother. Minerally. Better with food. Had butter garlic clams. — 12 years ago
