Brick House

Cuvée du Tonnelier Ribbon Ridge Pinot Noir 2011

Really delicious Pinot. Burgundian style. Elegant. Cassis and muted earth. Amazing for the original price. This 2011 is long gone. Paid under $40 several years ago. Wish I had another. Hear my Dad saying in my head "Always buy two..." 😀 🍷 — 7 years ago

@Evan Bienstock I'm taking your recs as well. I have had Pliny The Elder and it is good. The rest?....not too sure I can even get those here in TX but wouldn't mind doing a little trading!

As good as his Pinot and Gamy is, the Chardonnay's coming off of Doug's vineyard in Ribbon Ridge are even better. — 8 years ago

Château d'Yquem

Sauternes Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2005

2005 vintage. At lunch with Pierre Lurton at Chateau D'Yquem. Medium golden hue. Quite restrained on the nose - poached peaches, stewed apricot, saffron, sweet spice, wet stone minerality. On the palate, medium plus acidity - far less than 2014, medium sweet perception, great liveliness and energy. Good angles. Not as long as the 2014, but more body. Drink 2019-2035. — 8 years ago
