A nice dark cherry red color with a wide brim. The nose opens up with some nice spice and green earth. Plenty of funk and fun on display here. Dense moss and forest woodland screams before the bright red fruits show up to play. The floral aromatics really set this one off.
45/30/25 of Grenache, Mourvèdre, and Syrah, this is a Central Coast take on Chateauneuf du Pape and baby, it works. It’s a gentle onslaught of goodness. Mounds and mounds of bright, fresh fruits come in waves. Wild strawberry, red cherry, and raspberry. A hint of dark chocolate with menthol and more greenery. It seems like people don’t know how good these are and that’s a crying shame. Beautiful wine and so hard to beat. — 5 years ago

Full, Bold and plush. Made from Walla Walla grapes. Ripe fruit (plums and black cherry) aromas and flavors. Hints of black pepper, black olives and baking spices. Smooth tannins. Last night I opened the 2015 Baer Star Merlot Stillwater Creek Vineyard Columbia Valley. A blend of 87% Merlot and 13% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose there is black cherry, cherry, blackberry, plum, violet, chocolate, allspice and black pepper.
On the palate there is cherry, black cherry, blackberry, red currant, licorice, espresso, and chocolate.
This wine is medium to full bodied with a velvety mouthfeel and medium to + acidity with medium soft fine tannins that leads into a long black fruit finish. Dark ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Nice nose of cedar, licorice, cola, Indian spices, chocolates and tobacco.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with currants, plums, cooked cherries, cedar, spices, light vanilla, tobacco, peppercorn, espresso, eucalyptus, light vegetables and herbs.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This 4 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Yountville is already delicious. Fruit forward and elegant. Soft and smooth.
Showing nice complexity. Still young but already enjoyable even by itself.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after an hour in the decanter. A good quality wine.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 years. This Single Vineyard has good potential to become a 94 +point wine.
A good sipping wine that will pair nicely with a big piece of steak.
