Deep gold with pronounced aromas of ripe fruits, honey, currants and floral notes on a rich sweet nose. On the palate flavors of pure honey, apricot, baked apple, raisins and sweet vanilla. Rich full-bodied, syrup like, Botrytis at its best. Long finish, vivid acidity, luscious, great to drink now. Tasting Sample. — 5 years ago
This is 16 despite the label. Awesome nose. Big cherry fruit, some sweet oak, mint, soil tones, and just an amalgam of intense fruit. Really elegant and juicy with lithe silky tannins and such purity. Terrific structure and top notch finesse. Amazing purity and elegance. Long finish and very chewy. I think needs 3-4 years and/or a 3 hour decant. Terrific focus and freshness. Stunning balance. Awesome. Lovely stuff. — 5 years ago
Liquid gold, drank this June of 2018, very dark gold, loads of honey, apricot, fig, nearly perfect — 6 years ago
Consumed 12/2017. Full rich flavors of berry, Cassis and black cherry with hints of vanilla in the background. Aging with French oak adds complexity and depth, resulting in a high-quality Cabernet with great value. For me, this wine has to breath for a couple of hours before I like it. — 6 years ago
Superb, classic in all the ways it should be...perfectly gold color, a nose telling at first botrytis but then it gives way to more dimension with layers or orange marmalade, honey, and creme brulee. The palate reflects this and adds a touch of almond extract and a laser beam of core acidity. #sauternes — 8 years ago
One of the best California Cabernets, including all the Cult Cabs. It is pure elegance even at this still young age. It most certainly will only get better over the the next five to eight years. The hardest part is waiting as it's so good now. Blackberries, blueberries, blueberries and blueberries. Black plum, raspberries paint the background, liquid violets, milk chocolate, it's juicy to dry, underbrush, herbs, dry crush rocks, just a touch of baking spices, sweet leather and dry soft minerals. Smooooth! The fruit is perfect. Chuck really knows how to farm fruit and the exact time to reel it in. He is one of the most underrated Winemakers in CA. — 8 years ago
Capa y densidad media alta , en nariz fruta roja, aceite de oliva y tostado suave. En boca entrada golosa, personalidad fruta, fruta ... Buen final. — 8 years ago
From the Tour dArgent wine list. FnA. This is amazing Chablis. Light to med gold. Closed at first. Just wait... There it is. Kermidgean white soil and white rock stone. Shell bits. Over 3 hrs this built into that honeyed mineral stone pit fruit thing that is aged Raveneau. It's what got me interested in Chablis. It's why that disease continues. — 9 years ago
This 09 bottling really exceeded my expectations. Even parts PN/Chard, all from gran cru villages, this showcase the long aging (in this case 9 years) and non-malo that are the signature house style beautifully. Red berries, apple, and lemon custard grace the slight nutty nose. Creamy mousse. On the palate it was supple yet bright, with a long energetic floral finish. Savory, fresh and precise. — 4 years ago
last bottle, still enough stuffing going on!
Mint and eucalyptus, some chocolate and still jammy fruit. Second day it was over the hill. — 5 years ago
Ridiculously smooth. The charred vanilla flavor is as advertised. Legs for days. Great wine! — 5 years ago

Is this number five? I’ve lost track already. “Gold Jerry, Gold.” Can taste a touch of the age on this bottle. #freundfest2018 — 6 years ago
Gold color. Tropical fruit, nut, and a little petrol on the nose. Rich texture on palate with tropical fruits and maybe almond. Less acidity than expected for a Riesling and, while fairly balanced, the acidity could be a little higher I think. Long lingering finish of tropical fruits and nut. — 7 years ago
Pure liquid gold. More akin to a top dry sherry than any wine I have ever tasted. On my second day and the flavours just keep multiplying. Incredible stuff! Wish I had more. — 8 years ago
Heavy yellow gold. Viscous like oil. Nose of pineapple, apricot, lemon curd, and white flowers. Rich and glycerol in the mouth. Acidity built with air but it's the fruit that dominates the story. Very ripe and round. Long finish. This wine continues to perform at its apex. — 8 years ago
Boyz Raveneau tasting. From a very well kept bottle with a high fill. Light to med gold/straw color. More closed than the others. Rich and viscous in the mouth. Some heat in terms of the presence of alcohol. With air this really opened up. After 3 hours this was singing. — 9 years ago
Nice regal gold hue. Amazing pit fruit and wet stone nose. Plus notes of apricot, white clay soil, salty ocean breeze and some Raveneau honey on the finish. Rich and powerful in the mouth. Coats the palate with lots of fruit and fine grained acidity. I’ve had this a few times and this was at its best. Great Raveneau at age 30 is an amazing treat. — 4 years ago

Tour d’Argent. Surprisingly young color, light gold. At first it’s soft and delicate. With air it shows notes of citrus, tan spice, white clay, minerals and some cardamom. Starts with great fruit and has structure and acidity that builds with air. There’s a sweetness that stays with it over 3 hours. Great wine. — 5 years ago

Light gold. Looks young. Took 5 hours to open up and show its stuff. In hour 6 this was cruising. Saline and sea shells, wispy lemon fruit, some honey, some white stone. The guesses from the fellas were 2002 Rav Clos and 1996 Rav Valmur. Shows how these properly stored aged Raveneaus can age effortlessly. — 4 years ago
