Cab/Merlot blend from Bolgheri, Tuscany. Dark cherry with velvety tannins. Great in store quality for price. 90+ — 7 years ago
Bought in Tuscany. Dinner with the Chin family. — 7 years ago
Just hitting this after about a three hour decant, and I can already confirm that's not enough time. Way sexy brown-red color, like really awesome. Nose is almost Barolo-like, stewed red fruit with the raisin style nose. I'll get more into notes later once the bottom has proper air...this could be tomorrow!
Back to it after 48 hrs... Nose is a little closed, but about the same. Palate is more expressive today, dried cherry with mid-level tannins, but still does not appear ready. We'll get back to this in +24 hrs in hopes of betterment. — 8 years ago
Reliving our time at their winery in 2013. Brought a few back and this is Incredible right now! Red fruits, Oak, VERY full bodied with a 30 sec finish!! Bet this would be good in 5 more years too.......outstanding Super Tuscan, and what a flash back to tasting it at the winery in Montalcino!! — 9 years ago
So fragrant and pretty. This is a food wine in the sense that it could really pair with just about... Most things. #rossodimontalcino #disotto — 9 years ago
A real treat to see a 34 year old Italian beauty. Dried herb and fruit. Earthy, dark dried fruits. Soft soft tannin with rounded acid. Lost its vibrancy and that bang that sucks you in. Admirable it has held up and a beautiful experience. 89 points. — 10 years ago

At first, this wine seemed slightly over the hill. Not sure if it was pairing with food, some aeration or the alcohol (in my head) that let this wine blossom in the glass. This wine sings after 30 minutes. Somewhat soft and round with lots of structure and backbone making a for a great balanced wine. — 6 years ago
This is amazing juice. Sexy, opulent, tons of energy and verve. And still a baby in its development - the house style focuses on early drinkability. But with no corners cut on balance or depth. Paired with some incredible venison medallions, this put me on nuvola nove. 😁 — 7 years ago
dark fruits, brooding in style, bright acid, earth notes under black fruits on nose. nice. — 8 years ago
Last of two purchased in Italy. Can't believe it has been 8 years since I opened the previous bottle. Still drinking well and tannins are not as drying as the last one. From the Tuscany/Umbria border near Lago di Trasimeno and cellared in an ancient Etruscan tomb. Up to four years in barrel and three in bottle before release. Current release vintage is 2008, which @AntonioGalloni recently gave a nice score (93+). Will definitely be on my list of places to try and visit on our next trip. — 8 years ago
Rompicollo vineyard. Volcanic soil rich in tuff. Pitigliano and scansano estate. Southern facing. Heart of maremma toscana in southwestern Tuscany. — 8 years ago
Very good chianti Classico in a classic sense. Good fruit, soft tannins, and great old wold terroir that makes the finish a great example of how good Sangiovese can be at a very reasonable price point. — 11 years ago

For all those people saying this wine is too primary and too fruit-forward, have some patience! This wine loves some time in the bottle. The nose is pure Tuscany, floral with notes of black cherries and dried herbs. The palate is soft and supple, especially with 30 minutes in the decanter. Flavors of black plum and currant lead to secondary flavors notes of cocoa powder, dried herbs, soy, plush, velvety tannins and still very vibrant acidity. The finish shows a touch of earth and black fruit. A wonderful, different Toscana. — 7 years ago

Shipped from Italy in 2006. A favorite — 8 years ago
Really dark opaque purple, with dense color tone not eased up on the rim. The bubbles are purple too. It shows a bit brownish tone on the rim. Beautiful dense legs on the rim flowing slowing downward. Nose of ripe dark sweet fruit, wood fragrance like cedar, leather, herbs, jam, raisin, and a slight hint of spice. All the fragrance is saturate, but in harmony. Taste of bright acidity, dried apricot, peppery, black tea, zest, dark chocolate, medium tannins, oaky, and peaty. Aftertaste is long with dark chocolate and coffee-mocha note, and a bit tea flavor. Wow. I hope I have another bottle for aging. — 9 years ago
Transparent garnet in the glass. Black cherry and cedar on the nose. Firm velvety tannins rule the palate of black tea and black cherry. Dark anise finish. — 10 years ago
