Bought in Tuscany. Dinner with the Chin family. — 6 years ago
Just hitting this after about a three hour decant, and I can already confirm that's not enough time. Way sexy brown-red color, like really awesome. Nose is almost Barolo-like, stewed red fruit with the raisin style nose. I'll get more into notes later once the bottom has proper air...this could be tomorrow!
Back to it after 48 hrs... Nose is a little closed, but about the same. Palate is more expressive today, dried cherry with mid-level tannins, but still does not appear ready. We'll get back to this in +24 hrs in hopes of betterment. — 7 years ago
dark fruits, brooding in style, bright acid, earth notes under black fruits on nose. nice. — 7 years ago

Shipped from Italy in 2006. A favorite — 7 years ago
Ok. This NEEDS air. The typical Sangiovese acid was string at first. The next day..... Wham.... The nose is like sweet, dusty cherries surrounded by shoe leather. Incredibly smooth in the palate, gleaming with strawberry notes. Felt more full bodied in the mouth after a day of air. — 8 years ago
So fragrant and pretty. This is a food wine in the sense that it could really pair with just about... Most things. #rossodimontalcino #disotto — 9 years ago
Excellent Chianti we had in Bellafio — 11 years ago
For all those people saying this wine is too primary and too fruit-forward, have some patience! This wine loves some time in the bottle. The nose is pure Tuscany, floral with notes of black cherries and dried herbs. The palate is soft and supple, especially with 30 minutes in the decanter. Flavors of black plum and currant lead to secondary flavors notes of cocoa powder, dried herbs, soy, plush, velvety tannins and still very vibrant acidity. The finish shows a touch of earth and black fruit. A wonderful, different Toscana. — 6 years ago
Leather, plums and mold in a good way, after letting it breathe for 1 hour. — 7 years ago
Fantastic bottle of classic Brunello, brought back in 2013, from our visit there. One of the best I've had. Red fruits, hint of vanilla, full bodied and medium to long finish. Outstanding...... at Bacio with my bride, and some Copper River Salmon. A great finish to my B-day that began with a round at Spring Hill. — 7 years ago
Really good! Got it at Taffy's in Eaton, OH — 7 years ago

Rompicollo vineyard. Volcanic soil rich in tuff. Pitigliano and scansano estate. Southern facing. Heart of maremma toscana in southwestern Tuscany. — 7 years ago
Transparent garnet in the glass. Black cherry and cedar on the nose. Firm velvety tannins rule the palate of black tea and black cherry. Dark anise finish. — 9 years ago
Very good chianti Classico in a classic sense. Good fruit, soft tannins, and great old wold terroir that makes the finish a great example of how good Sangiovese can be at a very reasonable price point. — 10 years ago

2005 vintage on 27 and 28.10.2017
Not decanted so at first there was a very meaty and mushroom kind of nose. After an hour that dissapeared and leather, tobacco and some black fruit came in. In the mouth it was already very well balanced and you could taste the warmth and depth for minutes. 9
The second day these tertiaire perfumes are only far away what is there however is a great nose with leather, figues, cedar and black currant. Spicy in the mouth with enough acids and bitters. Fantastic wine! 9.4 — 7 years ago
Surprisingly accessible in it youth. Delicious fruit and earthy. Chewy, soft tannins — 7 years ago
Last of two purchased in Italy. Can't believe it has been 8 years since I opened the previous bottle. Still drinking well and tannins are not as drying as the last one. From the Tuscany/Umbria border near Lago di Trasimeno and cellared in an ancient Etruscan tomb. Up to four years in barrel and three in bottle before release. Current release vintage is 2008, which @AntonioGalloni recently gave a nice score (93+). Will definitely be on my list of places to try and visit on our next trip. — 7 years ago
Reliving our time at their winery in 2013. Brought a few back and this is Incredible right now! Red fruits, Oak, VERY full bodied with a 30 sec finish!! Bet this would be good in 5 more years too.......outstanding Super Tuscan, and what a flash back to tasting it at the winery in Montalcino!! — 8 years ago
Had this with stuffed peppers and a wonderful pasta in a puttanesca sauce. This 2010 vintage had an earthy Italian taste which was enhanced by the capers in the sauce. Great pairing. — 9 years ago

At first, this wine seemed slightly over the hill. Not sure if it was pairing with food, some aeration or the alcohol (in my head) that let this wine blossom in the glass. This wine sings after 30 minutes. Somewhat soft and round with lots of structure and backbone making a for a great balanced wine. — 6 years ago
