Special week in San Fran... splurge on this 25 year old Chardonnay... stunning savory Carmel butterscotch notes... deep gold in the glass.. still alive with vibrant acidity... perfect with open fire roasted petrale sole with brown butter. Fresh, smooth juicy red fruit. A finish as soft and gentle as a kitten on a feather pillow. Tried again 24 hrs after opening and it has flattened out a lot and lost the juicy freshness. — 10 years ago

Quite nice and good to try a Barbera with some good age. Probably too much fruit for me - quite exuberant even at this stage. With some air this comes into balance more, nice wine. — 5 years ago
