All upfront. No finish. Big bold dark fruit. A small hint of cherries. As it opens up., there is more of a dry finish. — 7 years ago
Back up bottle pulled because of the corked 05 Clos. Lighter color, straw gold. Side by side it makes the taint in the Clos more obvious. Notes of white flowers, quince, honeydew melon, stones, white clay and a tiny bit of honey. With adequate air this expands and gets huge. Both bottles have that sort of welcome dirtiness I find in both Dauvissat and Niellon. More subdued than the flamboyant Clos, and needs more age to reach its potential. Yet this is really good right now. — 7 years ago
A redo after that disappointing 2002 Pichon Lalande two weeks ago on #steakandclaret night. While this is not again what I expect from this producer, it is better than the 02. Nose of cedar, fresh tobacco, stones and dry soil, quiet baking baking spices, ripe & lean; blackberries, dark cherries, cherries, strawberries, pomegranate, hues of blueberries, light mushroom, soft leather, black licorice cola and fresh red florals. The body is leaner to medium and well resolved. The fruits are fresh & bright. Dark cherries, cherries, lean blackberries, strawberries, cherries, pomegranate & cranberry juice, hues of blue fruits, saddle-wood, sweet suede leather, fresh tobacco leaf, cedar, dry stones, top soil & rich turned dark earth, limestone minerals, dry stems, slight touch of dry herbs, round, mouthwatering acidity and lean, long, well balanced fruit & earth, good structured finish with length. Finish lasts a full minute. Still 8-10 years of good drinking ahead. 9.3 with the ribeye. — 8 years ago
Love this Syrah. Nice long finish on this one. Young but still fairly smooth. — 8 years ago
A benchmark Syrah for sure. Great grip! — 9 years ago

Six hour decant. Smooth velvety tannins. Blackberry and tobacco. Smooth and sophisticated. — 8 years ago
Amazing taste, a little oak-like finish. I don't taste the grapefruit like I do with other Sauvignon blanc from this region — 10 years ago
My favorite Cabernet. Best value. Miss it. — 10 years ago
2011 vintage. $18 retail. Banging deal. — 11 years ago
Staying with the 🇮🇹 - Sassicaia means “place of many stones”. Roger that. Star anise, cherry and hints of raspberry. 💣🍷 — 6 years ago
Excellent example of Chardonnay. High altitude well maintained acid, lemon/limes, lemon curd, slight tropical. — 7 years ago
Ah, the Rocks at Milton-Freewater produce such remarkable and distinctive fruit. Morgan Lee’s take on the Stoney Vine Syrah is outstanding. Earthy, gamey, succulent, dark and full stone fruit (plum) that just keeps going. This is good for another 5 years I think. — 7 years ago
Smooth and spicy. Great with a steak and chimichurri Sauce. Affordable. Dark currant and tobacco. Let it breathe. — 9 years ago
Really delicious!! — 10 years ago
Great with chicken — 10 years ago
Very sexy...reminds me of a Washington cab, maybe from DuBrul. Now if only the Easter bunny would bring me a bottle of Le Dome — 11 years ago
