Akatcha Bourgogne Pinot Beurot

Outstanding white Pinot Beurot by Bize (!) skin contact gives it its color. This is the kind of “natural” wine that I like. I’ll skip the hipster wines, thank you. Alice Feiring club selection. — 5 years ago

Yes, what’s a “hipster wine”? I’d like to avoid them if I can 😄

Les Serpentières Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2007

Lingering taste that I can’t place. Bottle kept evolving and started out tired and then woke up and got it going! Savory finish that was tired and awake at the same time. — 8 years ago

Païen Chamoson Heida 2013

Tasted 28/04/2016

Vibrant, intriguing, eloquent nectar made of Heida (Savagnin Blanc), idiosyncratic to Valais.

Dense shimmering brass color, golden glitters.
Wet hay, mint, soaked apples, quince, sage, limestone, pinecone. Caramelized peach.
Fat-bodied, zesty palate. Lively acidity supported by tough mineral kick and kumquat peels, unripe cantaloupe, bruised quince, laurel, sage flavors.
Interminable finish...
Unique winexperience!
--------------
Pairings... I tried several ones.
First was 'C_Bro favorite': cute little bunny, trapped, skinned, disemboweled and baked in sourcream with allspice, garlic, onion, juniper, carrots and thyme.
Than - moderatetly spicy grilled reindeer sausages.
And finally mature + blue mold cheese plate.
All three played well.

Les Talmettes Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2007

In a perfect place. Always love Bize and with some nice age this is great. Excellent pick from the somm at Daniel. Beautifully aromatic with wonderful fruit. Just a slight hint of tannin, but still good lifting acid on the finish. Great pairing with both a skin-on black bass as well as a nice strip loin. Long finish. — 5 years ago

Great wine, even in “off” vintage. Bize was the producer that got me hooked on red burg...

Nice @Michael Greene. I was a bit skeptical of the 07 (even if it was a great year for graduating). But the somm talked me into it and she was absolutely right.

Les Perrières Bourgogne Pinot Noir 2017

Tasted blind. Guessed Pinot Noir and Bourgogne. Had a very tough fight in my head regarding this one. Restrained old school style yet very young. Cherry and earth notes. Hard on tannin, good acidity. Overall elegant, stylish and sophisticated. — 3 years ago

Aux Fourneaux Savigny-les-Beaune 2006

Burgundy with pizza night? Why not. This was expressive and forward if not terribly refined, plush and expansive on the palate with bright, tangy red berries and sour cherry, while showing some secondary notes of forest floor and leather. Firm tannic spine keeps the whole thing together. Couldn’t help but polish off the whole bottle to wash down the (perhaps one too many) slices. — 6 years ago
