Lovely foothills Syrah in a German-glass finished (it’s the closure/cork), at 17 years old still shows massive fruit, I’d say it’s mature, but very long, lingering finish, most amazing to me (for those of you who know Hank) is that this wine is 14.9% ABV!?!? — 9 months ago

Fairly fruity on the nose. Hint of black pepper and something earthy/mineral. Flavor is very dry. Dried strawberries and red vines. Classic jammy Zin thing. Some pomegranate molasses perhaps. Fresh and zinfulliciuos. Plenty of tannin to give it more bite than Zin usually achieves. Complex. True. Enjoyable. — 7 years ago

Very good Sierra Foothills blend of Grenache (72%) and Mourvedre (28%), I believe the wine’s name refers to the vineyard sources of the Grenache and Mourvedre in this wine), good color, good depth and balance, solid and has held up well!! — 10 months ago

Great bottle, 100% Grenache with 25% whole cluster. Cherry and red berry along with some spice notes with some a good tannin structure. Some meaty and minerality notes also come around. — 9 years ago

Very nice and interesting Syrah from the Rhone. Aromatically not that intense, but this has great freshness and acidity, with medium tannins. More purity of restrained fruit than earth or funk. Quite nice with a ribeye at Prairie Whale in the Berkshires. — 9 years ago
