Cab Franc can sometimes overwhelm the palette with excessive pyrazines and bell pepper. Romaine Guibertau’s Rouge, though, is a good example of how de-stemming, introducing little or no oak, and relying instead on minerals, earth, and the right amount of fruit can form a really terrific finessed wine.
This entry level from the masterful Loire winemaker has a high toned whiff of Serrano pepper followed by earthier damp notes of gravel, minerals, green strawberry, and sour plum. Clean and pure, it is chalky dry and beautifully constructed. — 7 years ago
Mineral, easy finish, easy to drink, fruity and smooth — 8 years ago
¡Ya ataca mi Madrid! Bright and delicious with jamón serrano and pimientos de padrón. Hostia — 8 years ago
Eye opening! To see how the wines age has been a great pleasure. The world is going to wake up and find these Wines. If you have a chance to taste I highly recommend. — 8 years ago
Sour cherry, graphite, tobacco, slight vanilla at the end. Delicious and pairs well with cured meat like chorizo and Serrano ham. Med-low on the tannins. — 5 years ago
Wonderful cherry fruit aroma, tannins are easy and very enjoyable with a Spanish appetizer of cheeses and Serrano ham. — 5 years ago
I am rating this one late. It was quite good for the price. We got it in aria at Julian Serrano. I was quite surprised how much I liked it. — 7 years ago
Drank at Bottles in Paris with Sarah and Brice Garrett from Serrano Wines in Paso Robles.
Dark ruby red. Dark nose with some floral notes, dark berries, and a little savory. Medium plus (6.5/10) and full bodied. Some herbs on the palate, savory, leather and dark raspberries. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2027. (91+) — 8 years ago
Delicious! Rounded out with 20% rousanne. Paired with salmon with a serrano peach salsa. Worked with the fruit and the heat. — 8 years ago
Available from the get go. Medium intense garnet to purple color. Lively and lovely nosen. Red fruits. Crushed wild blueberries. Cured meats.
Chewing tobacco and arrak.
Dry.
Medium to medium plus acisity.
Medium tannins w/ quite silkey texture.
Some influence of oak. But not pronounced.
Great flavour intensity. Dark cherries. Raspberries. Blackberries. Black olives. Serrano ham. Some hints of jasmin and white pepper. Very elegant.
Serve at 15 degrees celsius tog rather elegant meats, due to the wines elegant and semi-silky profile.. Duckbreast, beetroots and a mushroom mayo. — 8 years ago
Warm, buttery color with smooth bubbles, slightly sweet not dry or tart. Paired with jamón serrano, chorizo, mahón and idiazabal plate — 9 years ago

Not dissimilar to the 2008, the 2010 Viña Gravonia leaps out of the glass with a heady, intoxicating aroma of clementine, honey and smoke. And as with the 2008, the palate is a similarly rich and oxidative medley, tannic and bone-dry, with a finish that goes on for minutes. Literally: you are reminded of the wine’s presence long after your sip by a creamy, vanilla-infused aftertaste that lures you into taking another.
God, I love this wine (and, to be frank, all of those that María López de Heredia makes). It’s too young now, but that doesn’t matter. Enjoyed from a Riedel Cabernet glass with Serrano ham. This showed best (by some way) on the third night, even after a double decant on the first. For the first two nights it felt like something was being held back. It is thus imperative that these wines are decanted for some hours prior to drinking.
Once again, an incredible drinking experience. — 5 years ago
One of my favourite cava producers. Zero dosage and yet still not too austere. Went excellently with the Serrano being served. — 8 years ago
Exquisito sabor con queso Guda y jamón serrano 👍🏻👌🏻🍷 — 8 years ago
Strong beginning and great acidity. Excellent with beed and jamón serrano. — 8 years ago
Great wine. Very unique taste would be good with smoked fish or jamón serrano — 8 years ago
насыщенный цвет, плотный фруктовый аромат - сухая вишня и терн, вкус: мягкое начало, высокий сахар, но без избытка, небольшие танины, округло, довольно длинное. Не так сложно, как старшие, но очень неплохо — 9 years ago

The nose was a fruit bomb when we first opened it. It is a little hot with alcohol. The palate is lovely. It is fantastic with prime rib. — 5 years ago
