I owe my love of Sonoma Pinot to Sean Capiaux. In evaluating this bottle, if I set those sentiments aside, I’m still hit by the excellence of Gap’s Crown. This is a big wine, no doubt, but it’s grace that first comes to mind. The fruit’s ripeness is balanced with shocking depth, nose to tail. Candied red fruits, blue fruits, and smoke, oversimplify a melange of fruit and umami. ABV is the one flaw, for me. It’s hot. — 7 years ago
Another Great wine Sean. I do think I like Gary’s a little more it’s got a more coco flavor and nice and rich but this was very tasty. It’s always a pleasure to be drinking someone’s wine who you see the passion in each step. Love to see the hard work involved at OShaunessey. — 7 years ago

Amazing to drink this wine 12 years after helping the master Sean Capiaux make it! Still young and intense, great concentration, long finish. Inky soy sauce and still full of raspberry and blueberry fruit... — 6 years ago
Enjoyed the oak! — 7 years ago
Smokehouse berry nose with piney undertones. Big holiday berry mouth upfront with a soft long finish. Pleasing way to begin a winter night. — 7 years ago
Fruity goodness. With Michael and Rachel at our apt. — 8 years ago
An enigma from Thackery. A riddle of a wine. It flip flops seamlessly like a good politician. So much tart strawberry fruit that you'd be forgiven thinking its a jam bomb. But the awesome power of Sangio acids leave your mouth clean as a whistle. Damn. — 9 years ago
