Napa Cellars 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is an stunning ruby color, with elegant concentrated aromas of ripe dark cherries, black currant, elderberry, and mint with hints of eucalyptus and sea salt. A lush core of ripe blackberry, boysenberry, slate and cocoa coat the palate. Plush and enveloping fine grained tannins and subtle hints of dried herb and clove lend to a velvety smooth and long finish. Joe Shirley recommends pairing this wine with herb-crusted beef roast or braised lamb with peppers and oregano. — 9 years ago
From Bright Cellars. Citrusy, a little sour and a little sweet, very good. This is the wrong wine listed, though—it's actually Tierra y Mar Fog Cuvee White 2014, which I can't find on Delectable. — 10 years ago
This ones got character. Lost at sea with me and whole bunch of bitches from the northern rhone she seems exotic and she's speaking a different language. Zingy, acidic, bright...yet with concentration and zest. I can see her peppery and leather genetics in her eyes. I only wish I'd stayed sober enough to get closer to her and enjoy all of her nuances. A good rating because I feel like opening another just to repeat the experience. Very different I must say. — 10 years ago
Grapes harvested at sea level, moved to the mountains by truck, and ultimately made at altitude (1036m above sea level)...unbelievable taste and smell! — 11 years ago

Really integrated, layered, and has everything you want in great Champagne without the price. The texture has weight and roundness without being too fat or clumsy. Spine of acid is zippy without too many edges. Notes of brioche, yellow apple, lemon curd, citrus, orchard blossom, sea spray, kiss of iodine, leesy notes accentuate it all. Persistent finish that evolves and lingers. Should help change your mind about domestic sparkling wine. — 9 years ago
Surprisingly delicious Prosecco. Frothy. Floral nose and other aromas of agave, apple and sea salt. Palate is similar but minus the sea salt and the addition of peaches. Very nice. — 9 years ago
Fresh, bright fruit. Cranberries. And a bit of that brininess I'm just crazy about. You know what they say - "Salt water is the cure for everything; sweat, tears, or the sea." — 10 years ago

"2010 Chardonnay, Ritchie Vineyard shows an ethereal nose that is light and refreshing with crisp lemon, sea salt and grain along with pineapple and verbena. The palate offers exceptional depth and texture with butterscotch, lemon, and toast with gorgeous balance. This will help you rediscover Chardonnay, without a doubt."
- Doug Wilder, Purely Domestic Wine Report, December 2013
All of our Chardonnays are whole-cluster pressed and fermented in Burgundian barrels with native yeast. Due to their great density and structure, vineyard-designate wines are able to absorb more oak without being overwhelmed, and see approximately 45% new French barrels. In addition, these wines spend more time in barrel (for Ritchie, 21 months), completely sur lies, before being bottled without filtration. — 11 years ago
"The Oak Knoll district of Napa Valley is an ideal location for cultivating Merlot grapes. Warm days and cool morning fog, rich and well-drained soils all contribute to the unique growing climate and allow for an extended growing season. The fruit for our 2010 Napa Valley Merlot was hand selected from vineyards primarily in the Oak Knoll district. Merlot is the most planted varietal in Oak Knoll and the fruit is elegant, complex and balanced." — 12 years ago
Black currant, smoky blueberries, cassis, and mint. Cornerstone Cellars 2012 Michael's Cuvée doesn't disappoint. It's opulent, with palate-drenching blackberries and blueberries, lovely purity of fruit with seductively sueded tannins. A blend of 91% Cabernet Sauvignon and 9% Merlot, this cuvée was assembled from the historic Oakville Station Vineyard (read that as To Kalon) 57%, 28% Kairos Vineyard, and 9% Ink Grade Vineyard on Howell Mountain. For the money, it's exceptional. 14.9% ABV | Sample — 9 years ago
“Journaux” is a Burgundian term, a unit of measurement signifying how much vineyard land a single man can plow with his horse in one day. The Azana vineyard, located in the Chehalem Mountains, sits at around 950' above sea level and is overlaid in volcanic Jory-type soil, as such, it's four or Quatre Journaux...and the Pinot Noir derived from it is nothing short of voluptuous. It's mushroom and moss, bark dust, cherry skins, plum and black tea. A lovely, woodsy configuration finely framed in ripe, fine tannins. Sample — 9 years ago
Sweet tarts, the pink cherry ones, and just a hint of spree, the coating, that initial metallic sour shock. Head change keeps getting foggy...the cloud spirits are strong in here. I keep thinking I'm tasting chalk but then I keep feeling like I'm tasting ocean clouds. I'm having a fun time with this right now at work but this bottle calls for a day of rain or a windy pause in the hills. The confusion of this drink is tricky. It took twice around to have these evaluations and perhaps its ready now but then again maybe the fog becomes something pretty in the end...but when? — 10 years ago
A pretty and rather feminine Grenache. Gorgeous deep red color. Beautiful minerality that seems just a bit like the ocean, sea salt in a way that doesn't seem like it should work, but does. — 12 years ago

Loved this Sav Blanc. No acidity. Pear and subtle minerals -mellow-almost like a good Chardonnay. Drank it with the growers,Tom and Brenda; amongst the grapes on the hillside outside Calistoga. Just fabulous. — 9 years ago
