Was drinking along side with the Ygay 2011 alcohol was about the same. Oak was similar. So was the color. Ygay at least was true to varietal.

Nose of ripe strawberries and dark cherries, some floral and earthiness. Smells a bit extracted but intriguing and complex. Moderate acidity keeps it together but not a lot of tannins and earthiness seems lacking. Seems like a sour raspberry beer with perhaps more floral and oak. All that said, not terrible and definitely interesting for California PN.
