Pietra Marina Etna Bianco Superiore Carricante

9.6

2020 Pietra marina - Etna Bianca superiore. Golden straw coloration. From Mila, birthplace of carricante, why it’s superiore. On the nose, citrus, herbaceous, salinity and minerality. On the palate, rich mouthfeel, citrus, herbs, salinity from the sea, and a finish of herbs (tarragon?) and minerals. Interesting- combo of Chablis and Chardonnay. Paired with mushroom and spring onion mayonnaise. — 5 months ago

Vino de los Ranchos Santa Maria Valley Pinot Noir 2023

There is a purity of fruit here that is notable, however it just seemed a bit thin and lacking on the finish. It did get better after some air. — 10 months ago

Billecart-Salmon

Brut Réserve Champagne Blend

Pale lemon in color.

Medium bodied with medium plus acidity and tiny bubbles.

Dry on the palate and elegant.

Showing limes, grapefruits, yeast, spices, brioche, minerals, light earth, sea salt and herbs.

Tangy long finish with limes and light almonds.

This is a delicious Non Vintage Champagne. Showing a great mouthfeel with nice complexity.

Wine Enthusiasts 92 points. Robert Parker 91 points. Wine Spectator 91 points.

Good right out of the bottle and better with some air time.

Nicely balanced and rich. Good by itself or with food.

A blend of 40% Pinot Meunier, 30% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay.

12% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$60.

In a good spot with room to improve. Beautiful texture, mousse, micro beaded.

Notes of Honeycomb and butterscotch. Both yellow & white peaches, nectarines, tropical melons, pineapple, understated lemon, cream, baguette, beautiful fine chalky powder, saline notes, sea spray, yellow & spring flowers, excellent soft acidity and a well made elegant, smartly polished finish that lasts nearly two-minutes.

Another 15-20 years here of quality sipping.
