This superb wine is my first Savignin from Côtes-du-jura. It has a fine pale golden hue which exudes fine notes of lemon, apple blossom and a hint of walnuts. Round and generous with wonderful acidity, I’m sure this wine will cellar really well and be equally enjoyable after several years of aging. We elected to pair this beauty with a hot smoked salmon, asparagus-ribbons, and capers in a lemon zest, creme-fraiche sauce accompanying a delicate angel hair pasta. A first for me. Right off the bat I was hit with barnyard funk, a fruit driven balsamic note and very chewy/crunchy cranberry. Best enjoyed slightly below cellar temp, this still needs some age or a solid hour in the decanter to express itself. Lots of potpourri, tar, and herbal/mineral traits. I was only able to enjoy a glass of this shortly after it was opened so I’m sure it blossomed after I left and was cooled down. Need to re-visit this unique blend. — 5 years ago
100% Savagnin from vineyards in l'Étoile, a tiny appellation in the southwestern part of Jura, aged for 6 months in foudre followed by another 7 years in oak, under flor (never topped up). Intense yellow color. Quite complex nose, somewhat reminiscent of an old Fino or Amontillado, but without the intensity and salinity. Aromas of walnuts, spices (curry), a hint of burnt caramel and some subtle funk. Full bodied (it feels heavier than most Amontillados). Long, spicy finish with intense hazelnut flavors — 3 years ago

Really interesting orange wine from the Jura. Almost Sauternes-esque on the nose. Wine really opens up after an hour or two to reveal herbal notes like a light yellow chartreuse. — 4 years ago
