Sparkling red, AMAZING — 10 years ago
Blend of Merlot and Cabernet franc, very smooth and satisfying. Beautiful color and elegant nose, pleasantly sweet. Rich in the mouth, perhaps too young but a really a good glass! 82/100 — 11 years ago

Enjoying a nice bottle of moscato. — 12 years ago
Smooth and dark. Dry rich red wine. Very good, solid big red table wine. Not too complex but grows with age. — 8 years ago
Classic B-flat Barolo - meaning it sings in the best key, it's easy to drink and it hits all the right notes - a crescendo of tar and tart fruit, backed by lightly percussive tannins. I got one more bottle, so I can play this tune again later. — 8 years ago
Albesani is a vineyard on the same hill as Santo Stefano. Gorgeous, perfumed nose of dark cherry, rose, truffle, and underbrush. This is a tremendous sleeper of a wine. Good now and for 10+ years. — 10 years ago

1988 Bruno Giacosa Barbaresco Riserva "Santo Stefano"
Red Label 1.5L Magnum
Classic Nebbiolo Nose of Leather, Tar, Truffles, Mushrooms and Spices.
Very Long Finish.
Deep Brick Color in Glass.
Red Fruit still present, in spite of age (27 years old).
Magnum Format preserved this Barbaresco beautifully.
Drank it over two days.
Paired with 1996 Gaja "Sori Tildin" and 1996 Bruno Giacosa Barolo Riserva "Falletto di Serralunga" Red Label.

1999 Riserva Soldera Brunello. Drank w K at dinner at Ago. Had this after the 1985 Santo Stefano Barbaresco. This was much bigger, heavier. Very rich and complex wine. Less fruit and more vegetal on the nose, which was unexpected. Loved it! — 11 years ago
