Always a winner :) — 9 years ago
I had never heard of this wine until my bud Ron @Ron R decided to school me in wine!! As some of you know, I love sharing wines that I feel passionate about with my friends and family. I met a partner in crime with Ron!! My new Bud decided to send me one of these beauties. I truly had no idea what I was in for one I received it. Ron simply advised "decant for two hours". I was thinking to myself that it would be this big, bold, jammy, brooding Australian Shiraz. Unfortunately, my tasting notes will definitely not be as eloquent as Ron's but I will try to do this wine justice as it is truly that good.
FSU fans (my daughter school) would love it's deep Garnett color!! The nose reveals dark fruit and a touch of leather and I get slight pencil shavings as well (I think! Lol). I'm still expecting a big power house at this point but upon 1st sip I'm blessed with flavors of spicy cherries., light vanilla with perfectly intergraded oak and tannins. I found it to be light and playful in comparison to the only Australian Shiraz that I've had recently which is Mollydooker's. velvet glove. In a nut shell., this is "The Bomb". I absolutely love it!!! & would easily recommend it to my friends. Thanks Bud! @Mike Rowe @David A Lentine @Paul T @David Goldfinger @Howard Greenfield — 10 years ago

Amazing. Smooth. Dry. Great dor hot weather — 9 years ago
Still solid red, only slightly bricking towards the rim. Nose is elegant, cedar and blackcurrant with a touch of menthol. Palate is smooth, beautiful weight and still mostly primary fruit; blackcurrants and plums with a hint of spice. A lovely bottle of well aged Aussie Shiraz. Top stuff. — 10 years ago

Great balance of sweet nuttiness and cutting acid. — 12 years ago
Burnt orange peels, pecans, level acidity, some almond at the finish. Decent length. 18% ABV. — 9 years ago
A bit oxidative and nutty, a bit floral. Incredibly flexible with food. — 10 years ago
Full malt character- much more body than you might expect from an IPA. Lactic palate, not too resinous — 10 years ago
Delicious! The cherry is definitely there but not overpowering. Much better than the other cherry beers I've had. — 10 years ago
