The 2021 Chablis Mont de Milieu 1er Cru was bottled the previous May. It is still obdurate and backward on the nose with touches of yellow fruit and a hint of white peach. The palate is taut and fresh, very saline, but perhaps it doesn't quite deliver the knockout finish I expected from barrel, hence my slightly lower score. Still a serious Chablis, though. Samuel Tinon Birtok Dry Furmint, Tokaj-Hegyalja, Hungary - 2016. All I know is IIke it. The acid, the saltiness, the easy sipping. 13% alc. paired with chicken baked in garlic, butter, salt and pepper, fresh lemon, and a dash of this wine. Perfect. Lighter than a Chardonnay, heavier than a Chenin. Bone dry. — 5 years ago
This is one of the very best bottles of Chablis I’ve had. Intensely pleasing. Amped up. Everything I love about white wine. I am really sad that I only had one bottle but thrilled I got to experience it at its peak. — 5 years ago
