Powerful but with grace. Typical 2012 Barossa. Mr John Duval has producer a good wine. Structure, deep core fruit. Needs time, slightly closed. Purple dark inky colour. Plum, blackcurrant and vanilla are prominent. Chocolate with great acidity. Length of flavour falls short for me . I don't think this is in the same league as Standish or Sami Odi. Lacked X-factor. Cellar for 10+ years. 92 points. — 9 years ago
Blend of three grapes (Sami in Georgian) Alexandreuli, Saperavi and Merlot. Fantastic. — 10 years ago
2015 Little Wine is anything but. Berry and spice with subtle silky tannins. There's a finesse to this wine that just makes me keep coming back for more. A big wine that's light on its feet. 4 hour decant, the wine improves with air and changes over the course of the evening. — 7 years ago
2013 vintage. One of the new wave of Artisan winemakers like our Delectable mate Fraser from Sami-Odi. Fresh juicy and funky. Just enough whole bunch acidity without over doing it. Silky but not delivering enough of the ripe fruit Grenache characters that one gets from old school old vine Grenache in The Vale. — 8 years ago
2007: youthful freshness, delicious lemony fruittones with first signs of maturation, balanced and very pleasant. Drink 2020-25. Enjoyed with Sami & Meri with Kantabrian pork stew. — 9 years ago
3 fing liters of 2011 Sami — 10 years ago
Revisiting the Mahé & Ribo Syrah in honor of Sami-Odi taking the number 4 slot of James Suckling's "Top Australian Wines Of 2016." It's now had an additional 8 weeks rest in my cellar since I last sampled it shortly after its arrival to our shores. Wow! Inky purple color with a brooding nose of dark fruits , anise and sweet spices. Super silky tannins which perfectly compliment the dark fruits. A luxurious mouth feel bordering on savory-ness. Full-bodied and vibrant with beautiful structure. Lingering finish. This is not your classic/typical "sweet" Australian Shiraz ( my guess is that Fraser harvests rather early), but the fruit purity and overall structure speaks for itself. Congrats Fraser! I look forward to a long relationship. — 7 years ago
Sami-Odi Hoffman (grower) Ukaipo+Dallwitz (vineyards) Shiraz from Ebenezer sub-region (Barossa Valley, South Australia). Expressive, dense. Takes a while to settle. Big, yet lithe. Impressive — 9 years ago

Medium to full bodied and well made in a good vintage from vines planted in 1885 from the Ebenezer sub district of Barossa Valley. Drinking my Barossa Reds in what passes for Winter in Australia this year. Difficult to drink these big Reds in a Queensland summer. I am dreading summer later in the year. Rich ripe and predictable - But it is pretty delicious. I feel Sami-ODI gets more complexity and interest into their Reds than most. — 7 years ago
