Very Burgundy in style with strawberries & cream + a touch of herbs. Nice mouthfeel with polished tannins and red fruit, juicy acidity. Very nice balance with a lingering finish. This is much bette than expected, Pommard Village quality for a fraction of the price. — 7 years ago

Green and ripe. Green lentil, English pea, ginger, and honey. Palate is rich showing off the legume and honey notes, along with orange marmalade, golden apple, and horseradish. — 10 years ago

Austria's icon and finest wine producer - FX Pichler. One of the top wineries in Austria, specifically located in the Wachau Valley. The winery itself was created on 1898. Of the 18 hectares owned by a family, almost a half are planted to Riesling, the rest is almost entirely Grüner Veltliner.
The wine:
Riesling Federspiel Loibner Burgstall

2011. It's Riesling. Don't let the slight RS fool you on the acid. — 11 years ago
Pure essence of GV. Fresh, intensive with floral and fruits aromas. A bit of minerality and papper. — 11 years ago
Aravind A
Pop and pour. The nose...just enrapturing. Soft coffee and coconut notes, bright raspberry, ripe wild strawberry, herbal notes, savory notes...amazing complexity. On the palate, lovely acidity, a touch of bitter medicine, earth and tree bark, then red raspberry, pepper. Medium bodied, and soft but very finely grained tannin on the finish. My best bottle so far. — 6 years ago
